Product Description
The Caribbean, 1665. A remote colony of the English Crown, the island of Jamaica holds out against the vast supremacy of the Spanish empire. Port Royal, its capital, is a cutthroat town of taverns, grog shops, and bawdy houses. In this steamy climate there’s a living to be made, a living that can end swiftly by disease—or by dagger. For Captain Charles Hunter, gold in Spanish hands is gold for the taking, and the law of the land rests with persons ruthless enough to make it.
Pirate Latitudes is Michael Crichton at his best: a rollicking adventure tale pulsing with relentless action, crackling atmosphere, and heart-pounding suspense.

In books like this one the villains are the Spaniards and the heroes are the pirates. The world turned upside down. It is like Spanish children reading novels where Osama bin Laden is the hero and the angloamericans the blood-thirsty devils who simply deserved their lot to be killed. I am simply horrified that angloamerican children are educated by reading this pack of lies about additional nations, like Spain. No marvel there is so much hatred in anglo-language countries about Spain and the Spanish world. Your are brain-washed with a pack of lies since your early age. It is the Black Legend revived every time. A real pity.

Well, what can I say. The number of stars I have for this work should be an indication of how I felt. I reflect the reason this was establish in his files and not sent to the publisher was that he knew it was not a excellent book. But then again maybe it was sent and the publisher rejected it at that time. I reflect they published this book just because they knew Crichton fans would buy it and it was money in their pockets.
I heard there was a second unpublished book waiting in the wings. I hope it is better than this one. But, I reflect I will wait to read reviews prior to purchasing. I do have to say but, that the fee drop for pre-ordering was very excellent.

This book is a right rip off of the customer. They do not tell you that the font is made so large (only about 16 lines per page) so that it appears to be a book over 300 pages. If this was printed in regulare font, it would be about 100 pages. It is not a novel it is an outline. I has nothing in its style to even suggest that it was ever really written by Michael Crichton (unless has has a side gig writing very terrible made for TV pilots) Save your money!

What drivel. It is a bring shame on that this clunker was published. EASILY the worst book of Crichton’s, even worse than”Congo”. I can’t judge that this was anything more than a napkin doodle. The book reads like a college freshman’s attempt a creative writing. Rest in peace Mr. Crichton, I prefer to remember your incredible talent – not this book.
