I have seen the additional reviews, and to my amazement, the additional readers loved it. Everyone has their own opinion. I DID NOT like this book at all. I had to read it for my U.S History Honors class. I HAD to read it, but if I had a choice, I wouldn’t have even looked at the damn book.

David Fisher is in like with Paul Revere, and to a lesser extent holds a fantastic amound of admiration for All-purpose Gage. History, generally, should be told from an unbiased, or trying to be unbiased, leader, but Mr. Fisher has taken it upon himself to declare Paul Revere’s magnificence to the whole world.
Truly, Mr. Revere can only be seen as a hero through Mr. Fisher’s eyes. He was a man of innumberable talents, who never did anything incorrect, and succeeded in awakening the entire countryside, although not by himself. Mr. Revere’s ability to use additional riders and messengers does not take away from his glory, but rather adds more to it than if he had merely ridden throughout the countryside warning everyone on his own. Everyone should be in awe of Mr. Revere, because men like that are hard to come by in this day and age.
I did not reflect it possible to like a man you’ve never met, one who’s been dead for a while now, but Mr. Fisher has proved me incorrect. He dedicated the book to Susie, but his right like lies apparent from the introduction.
Granted, I am not like most of the people who have bought this book, I had to get it form my US history class, but it seems to me that Mr. Fisher has failed as a historian, and so I marvel, how is it that people can rate this book with more than three stars?
Do you learn about April 18th, 1775? Yes. In that respect you will know more people living in Middlesex County on that night than you may know live in your neighborhood. He introduces you constantly to new “characters”. But, his blatant like for the main character blinds him to Mr. Revere’s failings, and it is extremely irritating to read a book in which a man who in fact had many faults, is described as a saint.
I give this book two stars, and not one, because it is not the worst book I have ever read, and for all of his inability to distinguish real life from fantasy, the leader does write well- in grammatical terms.
Reflect twice before buying this book, because I am sure you can learn just as much American History from a name who is not reasonably as prejudiced, and who has a small bit more commen sense than Mr. Fisher displays in this attempt at history. (I keep calling it a novel, because it certainly does not seem to be very factual.)

I selected up this book before long after visiting the Lexington – Concord Battle Sight and linked sights. I read 3 or 4 additional books on Lexington Concorde and none could hold a candle to this one. Paul Revere’s Ride is a wonderful guide through the first shots of the revolution. The maps, photographs, insight, and supporting bibliographic information are of the highest quality and immensely helpful. The book instilled in me a new understanding and appreciation for the people and their struggles. I would rank this as the top book of the many that I read in 2000, and a must read for anyone seeking an understanding of the causes and people who fought for and formed our fantastic nation.
