Reading this to my child made me feel like I was trying to convince him he wasn’t really a loser before he’d even spoken his first word or taken his first step. I like the thought of promoting the thought to children that they are unique and loved, but I’m not comfortable trying to convince them that they are special because polar bears dance for them. It seems like we parents should be doing that ourselves. In a word, I establish this book “creepy.”

When I saw this book in the bookstore, I nearly got whiplash. Such a rip-off of Debra Frazier’s book, ON THE DAY YOU WERE BORN. Hard to get past that. I stood there and read it, but I would not buy it. As a replacement for, I reread Frazier’s book, which I have agreed as a gift several times.

Mine was and this book is so special to us. Whenever there is a full moon, I tell my son, “Wyatt, there’s your moon”. This book is perfectly illustrated and the tale is wonderful. It gives me the goose bumps I each time I read it, it’s like it was written for us. A fantastic book for any parent and child!

The original version of this book by Darling Press is much more high quality… included book take in and glossy pages. This one seems cheep in comparison. I would not have bought it if I had known it would be this version. The tale is wonderful so I’d still recommend that you buy it.
