I place my hands on a Kindle for the first time last week. I was very impressed, and was on the verge of placing an order for one of my own. And then the Amazon vs. Macmillan tale broke. I reflect Macmillan had more to lose in the long run and Amazon should have stuck to their guns. Amazon’s capitulation opened the door to e-book pricing spiraling out of control. No thanks, no Kindle buy for me. Whew, that was a close one!

My sisters and I bought the Kindle for my 83yr mother for christmas and she LOVES it. She’s reading more than ever now, finds the larger font and light weight contrivance so much simpler than holding a traditional book, which can be heavy with her arthitic hands. I highly recommend this gift for the older audience, now I only wish that Amazon would let you share books

When will people see the light ? This should be in fiction. Hank left out much info. These people are out for there very own interest, not the tax payer. He was part of the problem. I will not support crushing the economy, so the 1% get richer and richer, and the middle class go closer to poverty. We have crashes or close to the brink every 10 year’s sometimes 2-3 in one decade. yet they continue to take our money , to bail out themselves and the rich friends who take place to own or work for the corporate companies. Your paycheck does not keep up with the inflation that has and will be made from this individual and the rest of the crowd who take our money. Why do we place up with these crooks. He should be in jail, as the rest of them should be. Vote all of them out starting with Congress and the Senate. The copy I read was at the library. Sorry Hank no royalty for you, from my pocket.
