Product Description
With this guidebook, photographers learn how to make stunning, professional images while avoiding the common pitfalls of using an on-camera flash. Techniques for using simple accessories—such as bounce cards and diffusers as well as how to improve a lighting scenario by enhancing it rather than overwhelming it—show photographers how to master this challenging aspect of portraiture. For wedding and environmental portrait photographers who must work in ever-changing lighting scenarios, executing these tips to evade flat, lifeless images with harsh shadows, washed-out skin tones, cavernous black backgrounds, and additional unappealing visual characteristics results in not only better images, but more pleased clients and more sales.

Brilliant topic of photo interest but fleeting on details. I establish that several parts of the book strayed from the book’s title. Did not judge that the book was as excellent of a source of information as it could have been.

As a name who knew very small about flash photography this book (On-Camera Flash Techiques for Digital Wedding and Portrait Photography) has been a tremendous help. It is not overwhelming filled with jargon and there are loads of examples to prove points in the text. I have establish it to be extremely helpful for a not-reasonably-novice photographer.

Although the use of a flash is a virtual necessity at most weddings, regularly the photographer does not have the requisite knowledge or experience to get the most out of their equipment. This book provides a excellent foundation in the use of on-camera flash and describes, in detail, advanced techniques that can significantly improve the quality of the final products. I have been shooting well for five years, but have never attempted to photograph a wedding (until my daughter questioned me to photograph hers). I establish this book to be very useful in providing me with basic information relating to evaluating the existing light, choosing the proper equipment, achieving proper exposure, mastering the technical aspects of flash photography, and applying the best techniques to achieve quality results. I gave the book four stars because there is a bit of repetition and the list fee is to some extent high for a work that is essentially an overview of the theme. But, if the final images turn out the way I hope and the techniques prove themselves to be sound, I set aside the right to add another star to the rating.

Neil is not only an awesome photographer but the undisputed king of onboard flash and the master of the BFT (black foamie thing). This book is a fantastic read for persons wanting to master using flash ever so subtly to add a kiss of light to photos lacking that tacky “flashed” look. Filled with awesome shots and technical detail. Highly recommend!
