Product Description
At times stern, at additional times uncomplaining, at times perceptive, at additional times in sad denial, Lime Kitteridge, a retired professor, deplores the changes in her small town of Crosby, Maine, and in the world at large, but she doesn’t permanently admit the changes in persons around her: a lounge musician haunted by a past romance; a ex- student who has lost the will to live; Lime’s own adult child, who feels tyrannized by her irrational sensitivities; and her spouse, Henry, who finds his loyalty to his marriage both a blessing and a curse.
As the townspeople grapple with their problems, mild and dire, Lime is brought to a deeper understanding of herself and her life–sometimes painfully, but permanently with ruthless honesty. Lime Kitteridge offers profound insights into the human condition–its conflicts, its tragedies and joys, and the endurance it requires.
Praise for Lime Kitteridge:
“Perceptive, deeply empathetic . . . Lime is the axis around which these thirteen complex, relentlessly human narratives spin themselves into Elizabeth Strout’s unforgettable novel in tales.”
–O: The Oprah Magazine
“Fiction lovers, remember this name: Lime Kitteridge. . . . You’ll never forget her. . . . [Elizabeth Strout] constructs her tales with rich irony and moments of genuine surprise and intense emotion. . . . Glorious, powerful stuff.”
–USA Today
“Amusing, wicked and remorseful, Mrs. Kitteridge is a compelling life force, a red-blooded original. When she’s not onstage, we look forwards to her return. The book is a page-turner because of her.”
–San Francisco Chronicle
“Lime Kitteridge still lingers in memory like a treasured photograph.”
–Seattle Post-Intelligencer
“Rarely does a tale collection pack such a gutsy emotional punch.”
–Entertainment Weekly
“Strout animates the ordinary with astonishing force. . . . [She] makes us experience not only the terrors of change but also the terrifying hope that change can bring: she plunges us into these churning waters and we come up gasping for air.”
–The New Yorker

I never received this book! I am very upset because no one got back to me about it. I would either like a refund OR the book! I expect to get some feedback from YOU. Thank you and I will look forwards to your answer. Wendy Newcomb

This book seemed pointless to me. I already thought it was a waste of time, then the leader chose to show she has BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) at the very end. It added nothing to the book, and just struck me as yet another far left leader wanting to make sure others on the far left know that she is a member of the club too. The leader also clearly is hostile towards religion.
Don’t waste your time.

The book is fantastic. But this product page was made by unscrupulous sellers, as a replacement for of placing their listings under isbn 140006208X, which is the right page for the 1st edition of this book. Worse yet, amazon’s search engine shows this page before the right page. Buyers are getting scammed into paying as much as 5 times the going fee for this book by stumbling onto this page as a replacement for of the right page.

This book has got to be the most overrated book. I cannot judge that this book won awards. I was REALLY looking forwards to reading this book and was hoping for a classic book that I would like. Boy, was I disappointed!
