I was very disappointed in this book. I had read the essay by the leader about “OLD Dogs…” and expected this to be more of the same. As a replacement for it was a picture book of a host of ancient dogs pictures and their tales. Not exactly riveting.

I requested a sample chapter of the Kindle edition of this book and was disappointed to find that the sample doesn’t include any text from the book proper. Just brief preliminary information about the book and certainly not enough to give the reader any reason to buy the title. I would advise publishers to “sell” the book through the quality of the samples they provide. Most of the books I’ve bought for the contrivance have been bought because I got to any appealing point in the sample and wanted to continue reading. Not the case with Ancient Dogs.

This book is many things MORE than, “a few sad tales”! To return it for such a reason is apalling! “I” would be ashamed to admit (publicly) I was so weak! How sad that, the ONLY comment Karen could make was NEGATIVE (AND, with it) she shows how pathetic her grasp of “life”, truly is. Like MOST women (she) HAS to have it HER way &, she, “just couldn’t bear” a teensy bit of sadness (in her life), from a BOOK–NO less! She doesn’t even have enough ‘Intestinal-Fortitude’ to (offer as a gift) something (“Ancient Dogs”) which contains examinations & excerpts from VERY real parts of this journey called, “life”. Dogs give so-much-for-so-small: warmth, kindness, companionship, fun, humor, loyalty, passion, (yes–from dogs); ahhh–were the human race so inclined….. ALL of these attributes go hand-in-hand with–sadness. Deal with it! NOTE! – (to the WEAK & INFIRM, of mind & spirit): Find-your-Back-bone!!! Re-examine your life (&) this book. Get a dog (or, a cat) & ‘feel’ something, for-once-in-your-life!

This book is very, very, cute, but I was disappointed to see some very sad tales in it. I bought it for a gift and chose to return it for that reason.

BOTH. We’ve all viewed the countless publications on puppies but never have we seen the bold, high contrast yet devious/gentle tie to the aging dog represented so perfectly as we see through the eyes of Michael Williamson. BRILLIANT of course!
Articulate Genes? Naturally placed perfectly on the page, the tales that with the IMAX like realness of these images that draw you in to read the words/tales on the page. Not just one page but page after page of intrigue, laughter, the things that make you go hummmm, and straight identification that in the end gives us all tie that leads to completion.
