Product Description
Mojo is the moment when we do something that’s purposeful, powerful, and positive and the rest of the world recognizes it. This book is about that moment–and how we can make it in our lives, maintain it, and recapture it when we need it.
In his follow-up to the New York Times bestseller What Got You Here Won’t Get You There, #1 executive coach Marshall Goldsmith shares the ways in which to get–and keep–our Mojo. Our professional and personal Mojo is impacted by four key factors: identity (who do you reflect you are?), achievement (what have you done lately?), reputation (who do additional people reflect you are–and what have you’ve done lately?), and acceptance (what can you change–and when do you need to just “let it go”?). Goldsmith outlines the positive actions leaders must take, with their teams or themselves, to initiate winning streaks and keep them coming.
Mojo is: that positive spirit–towards what we are doing–now–that starts from the inside–and radiates to the outside. Mojo is at its peak when we are experiencing both happiness and meaning in what we are doing and communicating this experience to the world around us. The Mojo Toolkit provides fourteen practical tools to help you achieve both happiness and meaning–not only in business, but in life.

I pre-ordered a copy of the book, MOJO by Marshall Goldsmith, read it as soon as it arrived, and was extremely pleased. I learned new skills immediately. Marshall has a way of building the complex simple – in MOJO he highlights vital things for us all to remember such as NOJO vs. MOJO, but also provides ways to improve like no additional. I have agreed this book to many of my clients and all have expressed excitement over how the information will be helpful to themselves, but also immediately actionable to take out to their teams who might need some inspiration right now. I continue to be impressed with how Marshall collects data and presents themes on his own life and shares it with all of us. There is a reason so many people like him – this book provides us an even closer view into the Marshall way of effective and thinking than ever before. Prepare to be coached. Cheers, Karen Steadman

I have collaborated with Marshall for several years on various publishing and marketing endeavors, and have loved his books and storytelling abilities immensely. This book does not disappoint.
He captures the essence of what many of us have been experiencing since the Recession affected our personal and professional lives.
In his latest book, Marshall describes the key attributes you need to keep your MOJO (internally driven sense of purpose, fulfillment and joy) running. Then he takes it two steps farther. First, he provides a free, comprehensive survey tool to help you assess your MOJO score. Second, he shares dozens of tales, many which I promise will resonate with your own personal situation. This step is critical because as a leader, I regularly feel as if I am the only person who is experiencing that frustration.
GOGO and buy copies of MOJO for everyone who really matters in your life!

Anything written by Marshall Goldsmith nearly automatically deserves four stars out of five – “Mojo” deserves all five!
The book starts by defining Mojo as, “That positive spirit toward what we are doing now, that starts from the inside and radiates to the outside,” and gives concrete examples of Mojo from both work- and personal-life.
The second section of the book sells the concept of Mojo and helps renovate the foundation of the concept. This section is more theoretical than the rest of the book, but still delivers levelheaded nuggets of wisdom and insight.
The concrete recommendations and tools for building and maintaining Mojo are establish in the third section of the book. There are 12 tools in all, and each is simultaneously simple and profound. Some examples include establishing criteria for your life (What is your maximum go back and into the world? How many hours a week will you work?) and influencing up as well as down. This section of the book delivers levelheaded value and is worth the buy fee of the book on its own.
“Mojo” is highly recommended and should be high on your list of books to read next!

After his two last brilliant books: What got you here and Succession, Marshall Goldsmith surprise us with this new book. Mojo has a excellent flow of thoughts and challenge us in every chapter to rethink the way we approach our day to day.

“I got my black cat bones all pure and dry, I got my four-leaf clovers all hanging high, I got my mojo effective,” says the pleased refrain of “Got My Mojo Effective,” a 1956 song by Preston Foster, later made legendary (with slightly different lyrics) by bluesman Muddy Waters. “Mojo” originally referred to a magical charm bag used in hoodoo, traditional African-American folk magic. The term mojo now connotes the thought of a positive life filled with meaningful activity. Is mojo effective for you? If not, executive coach Marshall Goldsmith, in collaboration with leader Mark Reiter, knows how you can get it going. Goldsmith, whose mojo is performing overtime, is an simple-access writer. In this cheery, if not terribly original, self-improvement book, he uses “mojo” to mean a pleased sense of purpose. He tells you how to boost yours with some upbeat philosophy and excellent, uplifting case histories. getAbstract recommends this guidebook to anyone who seeks a reboot – and you won’t even need a four-leaf clover.
