while it wasn’t the content of the book that was poor it was the construction of the books that were missing. The print type was so close to the inner edge that I practically had to break the spine of the book to read the last few words in persons sentences. They tried to cram so many words onto the page that it impacted the rhythm of reading to stop and crack the book open further read the words in the spine of the book. Not worth geting a book at a lesser fee if you are burdened in the reading of the book.

It came with two copies of the Well of Ascension.
I bought this set a couple months ago and didn’t bother to open it until now. I started reading the first of the trilogy and it has captivated me so far. I like the take in art on the books, so I went to look at the second and third one.
Upon looking, I realized the set had the first book and two copies of the second. Ah! It’s too late to send this back now.
Well, this series is wonderful, but now I’ll have to shell out another [...] bucks for the third book.
5/5 stars for the first book
fantastic shipping
incorrect book though!

An appealing take on the ol’ fantasy trilogy pattern. Mistborn breaks away from the LOTR formula reasonably nicely. (not that LOTR is a terrible formula…) I won’t give away much, but the first book was fantastic. The following two books weirded out a small, but you will want to read them none the less.
If Star Wars/Jedi was fantasy rather then sci-fi, I would categorize Mistborn as a cross between Orwell’s 1984 and Star Wars. If that makes sense

Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn trilogy is an incredible addition to the fantasy world of literature. The first book, “Mistborn,” is a highly entertaining and engrossing read, with twists and turns that aren’t too predictable, and which stands on its own as a perfectly contained tale. The second book, “The Well of Ascension,” is very ‘Empire Strikes Back,’ in that it cooks at a to some extent slower boil for much of the book, but explodes in the final third with well written action, development, and surprises, pulling the reader inexorably onward to the final installment. The third book, “The Hero of Ages,” was simply incredible. A non-stop thrill ride of adventure and mind boggling revelations, it ties up all the loose tale hooks, but doesn’t slam the door shut on the world. Sanderson has done a wonderful job in this series, crafting a well thought out tale arc from beginning to end, with three-dimensional characters who you can really cheer for, and delightfully original magic systems. It is so incredibly satisfying to read a tale where the leader has so skillfully natural fiber all the pieces together from beginning to end so that they unfold perfectly to reveal their complexity and precision. The Mistborn trilogy is an absolute must-read.

Simply place, this is hands down one of the best trilogy’s I have ever read. The Well of Ascension is my favorite. The world Sanderson has made is rich and real. No writer compares since Tolkien, Rothfuss, and Martin. If you loved their books then I am sure you will delight in Mistborn.
