Product Description
Why do people dodge responsibility when things fall apart? Why the parade of public facts unable to own up when they screw up? Why the endless marital quarrels over who is right? Why can we see hypocrisy in others but not in ourselves? Are we all liars? Or do we really judge the tales we tell? Backed by years of research and delivered in lively, energetic prose, Mistakes Were Made (But Not by Me) offers a fascinating explanation of self-deception—how it works, the harm it can cause, and how we can overcome it.

If these authors ever write a novel, I’ll make sure that I DON’T buy it. The writing isn’t very excellent, but the theme matter is appealing and could be recommended for everyone.

being an aronson fan, this book is disappointing
the whole book can be summed as “why im better than you”
yeah you sure are.
IT includes his views on politics which is disappointingly like listening to people at the bus stop complaining of the latest fox news
the information is incorrect & foolish.
this book was a piece of trash, im dissapointed

Makes some valid points, but the primary purpose of this book in my opinion is to bash conservatives and their views. Examples of poor liberal decisions are few. I would assume liberals make mistakes too… If you are looking for something that gives excellent analysis lacking the severe leftward slant look elsewhere.

I could not end this book. It just got to be too much that nearly all examples painted the predictable Liberal bias that only non-whites, women, Jews, homosexuals, and liberals are victims of bigotry. While I don’t dispute that members of these groups have been victims, I also live in the real world, which reality shows that members of these groups are also reasonably regularly perpetrators of bigotry.
Do yourself a favor, find another, less biased, book on the subjects of self-justification and cognitive dissonance.

The disagreement around the issue of ‘Global Warming’ and whether it is human-caused (anthropogenic) or not, is a excellent example of the principles discussed in this book. It is very unadorned to see now, the pouring-out by (mostly left-leaning) Environmentalists against the ever-increasing number of scientists, and hard evidence, which drives a vast lock into this media-supported charade that ‘the Science is Settled’, ‘humans are certainly to blame’, ‘we are near a tipping point in the environment’ etc, ad nauseum. Ad Hominem attacks against hundreds of the world’s most highly qualified (and Skeptical) climate experts are beginning to glide like confetti in a hurricane, especially since the Inhofe report. Sad to see, when many of the experts now being harassed, have been part of the UN IPCC’s own effort to clock radio the world. Environmentalism is an ideology, and Anthropogenic Global Warming a RELIGION, you need to be aware. But that’s how stupid people can get, when they need to defend a conviction. And attacks by reason only firm a group’s or individual’s resolve, in many instances – in this case, the resolve of Global Warming alarmists. Thankfully, history demonstrates that excellent science usually prevails.
