This is a god F-E glossary. Just what I was looking for. And it was very simple to set up.

I was very disappointed in this glossary. The definitions are brief, simple, and belong only in a pocket glossary. But, the worst aspect of this glossary is the fact that it cannot be selected as the primary glossary when you’re reading on your Kindle! Skip this one.

I’m not exactly sure who would find this glossary useful. The majority of english language people who would really want to read french texts on their kindle are probably to some extent proficient in french. This glossary will not serve persons people well. On the additional hand, if you can barely stumble through a sentence in french, you might find this glossary helpful… but then… are you really going to be reading stuff in french on your kindle?? As others have said, it is unfortunate that this is the only french-english glossary offered on the kindle.

For a student who is currently in his fifth week in an intensive course (ends in ten weeks with all the common grammar and a tiny set of vocabulary) in French, this glossary has been effective much better than I had expected. It is easily installed as the defaulting glossary on Kindle 2. It gives a definition to nearly every word I looked up, and when it fails in cases like *d’entendre* I can still type in *entendre* and choose to look up glossary (1 down, 6 right). It lists conjugations (click the CONJUGATION XX link in verb definitions; not optimal, but it’s there). For a beginner who is still effective his way through the grammar rules, this glossary provides quick and reliable answers to many of my guesses. With it I can read much more example texts in shorter time, which is fantastic.

this is the only glossary I know that is a defaulting on the kindle and I use it a lot. I would say that it gives me a excellent translation only half the time at best. The words in Jules Verne and Marcel Proust are not permanently available. Really need a more wide glossary such as the Oxford Hachette hard take in, which doesn’t have a defaulting version as far as I know. The Hachette glossary comes with a disc that provides pronunciation of typed in words. Now that would be fantastic to have on the Kindle allowing the Kindle to read the book aloud.
