I establish the math section of this book to be reasonably inaccurate. There were multiple mistakes in the possible answer choices as well as the answer key. Don’t waste your money on this one!

After finding several errors in this book I e-mailed the publisher. They sent me a very long list of known errors and I nonstop to find more. There’s GOT to be a better book out there!

I just took the TEAS exam today and i got an overall 90% passing rate. I only studied for five days, mainly looking at Kaplan and McGraw Study Guide.
4 Parts
READING: paragraph comprehension, passage comprehension, inferences and conclusion; very very simple; there is NO long passages at all… it is no more than couple of sentences each… so I was misinformed by the study guide thinking it was going to be long ass passages. A LOT OF TIME.
MATH: whole numbers, fractions and decimals, percentages, ratio and proportion, metric conversions, algebraic application, data interpretation, means, modes, I did not use the study guide, I just took the practice test,which is a excellent reflection of the test. Kaplan’s practice test was a bit too wordy and harder. None of the questions were that long. You do not have a lot of time so you have to go, go,go…
SCIENCE: scientific reasoning, all-purpose, life, compound, physical, human body… GRRR BOTH KAPLAN AND MCGRAW DID NOT COVER THE RIGHT INFO ON CERTAIN SUBJECTS
-one of my questions were on plate tectonics (WTF? why do we have to know that nursing?)
-one about planet and its orbitals
-1 question about plants
-very few questions on human body 2 or 3
-chemistry- kno ionic, covalent, they give u a periodic table so just know nonmetal with metal for ionic and nonmetal with metal; excellent insulators
ENGLISH: punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, contextual words, spelling… no real hard vocabulary; everything is pretty simple here also and PLENTY of time… I had more than 30 minutes left
SO basically I only use both Kaplan and McGraw just to do the practice tests. For the science part though, I did read the entire study guide. You have to look around online for more science information about geology, etc. There is none in the study guide.

Overall this book was a fantastic review for the TEAS exam. But, I was disappointed with the science section. It was not representative of the material on the actual exam. It is a all-purpose book for several entrance exams and that is vital to keep in mind while studying. I studied this book for a week and did very well on the exam. Excellent luck!
