I returned this book straight away when I received it because the level is too simple, only suitable for kids up to 6th grade. At least, I’d say it does not match New York City’s curriculum. My 8th grader son refused to do it and here is his comment: “Perhaps Prof. Fisher has momentously underestimated the American mind, at least, in my view. He claims this book to be suitable for students entering and in middle & high school. If, but, one proceeds to examine the material in this book, he would be momentously disappointed. From question experimental from the 1st page (6+4+2=?) to the end (6-9=?), the average American would deem the book “an insult to an intelligent mind.” while claiming to be for Middle & high school graders. My 9 year ancient sister breezed through the book. Even the commentary on the back of the book claims it would help a “fourth – or fifth – grader who is struggling in math”. And so, from an unbiased point of view, recommend additional books for middle and high school students.”
I’m not adage this is not a excellent book, but if you plot to buy it for your middle to high school kid, this is not the right book. If you want to buy it as a review book for your 6 grader, it’s is more suitable.

a very, very, very brief review of how to do the problem is open on each page and provides enough problems to do in 20 minutes.
Look at it in a library before spending money.
Unlike many additional books of this type you are not agreed the right to copy the material for repeated use by a class or a family tree. Therefore if one student writes in the book it is all done.
As a volunteer in an alternative school and a home school parent I consider this a poor use of money.

Ordered it for my child to keep things in mind. It is a fantastic 1-2 page review of each topic covered in 5th grade.

I really returned this book after looking through it. It is adequate if one only needs to review very basic math skills. It does not use the proper math terms used in high school, so will not be terribly useful to parents who are trying to help students. There are online resources which are more helpful.

This math book helped my student earn a B plus in mathematics. I am an English teacher, but I am tutoring a 7th grader in math, and I establish this book simple to use. I also tutor GED students, and I find the pages are simple to photocopy. I recommend it for teachers or parents.
