I was enchanted by this audio book. Suzanne Toren did a wonderful job narrating the tale. I haven’t read any of Kristin Hannah’s books and I didn’t expect much from the tale line after having read the brief synopsis on amazon.com. I bought the audio version because I delight in audio books narrated by Suzanne Toren and her voice surely lends a magical touch to this audio book.

Magic Hour is indeed a magical read. Kristin Hannah has a special way of conveying the feelings of children in her novels. she is also very excellent at capturing the mood and atmosphere of the Pacific Northwest. Loved this tale. It made me feel for the characters, especially the child.

A truly wild small girl is learned in Rain Valley, Washington. Ellie Barton, Chief of Police calls her sister Julia Cates, a child psychiatrist to come help. Julia just went through a traumatic suffering of being sued by parents of a ex- client. Having no reason to stay in Los Angeles; she heeds her huge sister’s call for help. Julia is haunted by memories once she arrives home. As Julia works with the small girl she named Alice; her life and her sister’s are changed for ever. Dr. Max Cerrasin is the man every available woman in town is after. He seemingly is attracted to Julia but is fearful of committing. Everyone has some secret to hide. This compelling novel will lead you on a roller coaster of emotions.

I have to say that this is one of the best books that I have ever read. You can see above and not more than what this book is about, but unless you read it you wont know how incredible it truly is. The magic Julia works with Alice is simply incredible. The relationship she makes with this child is terrified of her is beyond incredible.
This is my first Kristin Hannah novel but I hope it wont be my last!
