I bought the Switching to the Mac Leopard Edition right after I bought my new iMac. I was very confused and a name suggested this manual. It is written with humor and had been a fantastic help in my quest to learn. Of course there is nothing like experimenting (which I do regularly because I like to play with my computer), but if I have particular questions, they are in the book in a way that I can know. I wish the Snow Leopard book had already been out when I got this one, but it is close enough for now.

Brilliant edition to your Mac. Has everything. Condenses some things and you have extra gbites. Just try it and the book is very clear.

This book is a small too perfect for me. For each theme I had to wade through all the many ways you can invoke each function of each application (which I will never remember). The flow is also broken up with the many sidebars that don’t permanently go with the text nearby. As a reference, it does have some value, but it is certainly not much of a pleasure to try to read or even skim.
I apprehensive immediately when I establish out it was nearly as heavy as my MacBook.

The leader David Pogue and his team continue where they left off with the previous Mac Missing Manual for Leopard.
I have been a computer support engineer since the dawn of the microcomputer age and it’s permanently a pleasure to read a fun well written support book in comparison to the usual drier fare. I consider this book the perfect starting point for anyone just introducing themselves to OSX and it’s full of enough tips and heavyweight stuff to keep the more techie types pleased too. I just gave an older version of this book to one of my very excellent friends who bought a Mac four years ago and never bothered to figure out how to use it!
