This is book two in a series of four called “Children of the goddess” Book one is “Regina of the sun”.
I’d recommend this series be read in order. It adds to the experience allowing you to get more involved. That said on to the review…
This book is about (Zander’s brother)LUX after you read book one you know Lux experiences a traumatic event in his life that impacts him negatively. You don’t realize how terribly till you read book two. Lux is extremely guilt ridden and pessimistic in this book. He’s on a mission to locate a female Grey Wolf. As the tale evolved he’s open with an brilliant gift by the goddess. Let’s just say he’s twice blessed.I was pleased with this development myself being he’s been my fav character. I fell in like with him in book one. But, I can’t go on with out giving you all a honest warning.. **This book is far from vanilla sex.** As is regularly the case with Ms. Alexander she reaches into and experiments on several fronts in the arena of sex. She really is talented. If you disliked the male on male sex scene in book one this will in all honesty be one book in this series you want to skip. Go yet to be and read book three “Twilight Guardian”. You may have some holes but the leader does a excellent job of filling the reader in when possible. That’s not to say all this book has to offer is male on male sex. The world building and politics continue in this book but as a replacement for of Vampire politics it’s ware politics we are concentrating on. Besides Lux this book features Arygon and a female who’s name I will not include bc i do not want to spoil any ones “surprises”. The female grey wolf in this book is hardley worth any time from Lux in my opinion but Ary makes up for it. I establish myself incredibly pleased anytime Ary was in the picture. My fav scene in this book was when they noticed the grey wolf and Lux had to participate in the distraction. I give this a 5 star rating and would recommend it to anyone with any interest in light S&M. This book is far from hard core.

Lux Sariel is lost when his lover is killed, but pushes his guilt back when his brother sends him to find the sister of the man reliable for his lover’s death. Arygon is an Alpha wolf who is along for the search. There is tension between the two males as Arygon tries to tempt Lux away from his guilt.
The two men find Sylvain and she is more than they bargained for. Lux feels a pull toward both Arygon and Sylvain, but pushes his feeling away for dread of caring again.
Sylvain is an anomaly in the wolf world and forced to hide for most of her life. She knows she is part of a fantastic prophecy just waiting to come to pass. She spies Lux and Arygon and knows the prophecy is upon her.
Will the three come together to save the Vampire and Wolf worlds? Or will Lux’s guilt keep them apart?
Lux in Shadow, book two in the Children of the Goddess series, is even better than book one, Regina in the Sun. Once again R.G. Alexander pulls out all the stops with my emotions.
Lux is so filled with guilt that it takes both Arygon and Sylvain to help him realize that it isn’t his fault his lover died. Sylvain is strong yet innocent and unaware of her might. Arygon is unsure of himself and his role in the relationship, but between Lux and Sylvain, he is right where he belongs. The three are made for each additional and as the tale progresses, they all start to see what they mean to each additional.
Lux in Shadow is a small darker than Regina in the Sun, but I reflect it needs to be with Lux’s journey through his guilt. Ms. Alexander knows how to place so much emotion in her tales, not to mention the tension and chemistry between the characters
I was hoping that Lux in Shadow would live up to Regina in the Sun. Ms. Alexander did not disappoint me and even surpassed book one, and that is why I am Joyfully Recommending Lux in Shadow.

I am an avid reader of romance novels so reading bedroom scenes is not new; but, the sex in this book is the most explicit I have ever read. The plot seemed to be all ears on how many times there can be a threesome or gay sex, with the non-sex storyline being an afterthought. I downloaded this item to my Kindle and finished up “turning the page” lacking reading because of the content. It was very awkward to read about two men having sex and the explicit, “adventurous” (a gentle way of stating their escapades) sexual encounters the three protagonists had. After so many times, even I feel exhausted. If you are a name who enjoys reading persons type of sex scenes, this book is certainly for you. For everyone else who might feel a small sick or blush from explicit sex scenes, I would choose a different series.
