Where to buy Loving What Is: Four Questions That Can Change Your Life books online?
Product Description
Although it has been compared to additional spiritual and psychological systems — from Socrates’ questioning, to the teachings of the Buddha and Zen Masters, to the 12-step program — The Work is completely original. It is not based on any previous method or tradition. Neither philosophy or religion, it presents a practical and experiential way to undo the painful thoughts and beliefs that preoccupy our lives. Katie takes her powerful program for self-discovery and synthesizes it into this accessible audiobook providing everything needed for people to do The Work on their own and with others, taking them through this unique process step by step. People say that through The Work they experience a sense of lasting peace and find the clarity to act, even in situations that had previously seemed impossible to them.Amazon.com Review
Remember the axiom “question power”? Loving What Is is a workbook on questioning power–but in this case, what is in question is the power of our own fundamental beliefs about our relationships.
Known simply as “The Work,” Byron Katie’s methods are clean and straightforward. The basis is a series of four questions addressed to your own lists of written assumptions. Whether you’re mad with your boss, frustrated with your teen’s behavior, or appalled at the state of the world’s environment, Katie suggests you write down your most honest thoughts on the matter, and then start the examination. Starting with, “Is it right?” and continuing with explorations of “Who would you be lacking that thought?” this method allows you to get through unhelpful preconceptions and find peace. An vital part of the process is “turning the thought around,” and at first this can seem like you’re simply blaming yourself for everything. Push a small harder, and you’ll find a very reliable acceptance of reality, beyond questions of fault and blame.
The book is filled with examples of folks applying The Work to a variety of life situations, and reading additional’s examples gets the thought across pretty clearly; chances are you’ll find your own frustrations echoed on the pages a few times. Many chapters are divided into point topics, such as couples, money, addictions, and self-judgments, with one chapter devoted to exploring the method with children.
Questioning your own power is never an simple process, but it seems well worth the potential rewards–stress-free choices, peace, and affection for persons closest to you. –Jill Lightner

This book may help you get over the hump of self-imposed misery. It offers a few practical steps to help you analyze your own self-defeating beliefs, which is helpful to a point. In fact, many of the thoughts she presents here are straight from Jesus’ teaching (do not dread, like others as we like ourselves, don’t rely on what we reflect we know, repent, forgive, etc.). Except that Jesus questions us to follow Him as a replacement for of ourselves, as Katie does. This path laid out by Katie cannot be sustained unless you die to yourself and become new in Christ.
If you are looking for purpose, freedom from dread, healing, truth, unconditional like, and the essential guide to living, don’t look here. Look to Jesus. He will show you the way. All you need to do is question.

I give this brilliant book 5 stars, in spite of friends telling
me that Byron Katie has written even better ones. Amazon sent
me this book and recieved payment about the first of this year.
They are trying to send me another one tomorrow, along with a
book I ordered with this book tomorrow. I ordered 2 books, and
they sent this one first, and in error, somehow don’t reflect they
have. I will get another copy shipped to me tomorrow, along with
the book they thought they shipped on the original order. Since
it is impossible to get to talk to a human, I cannot stop them
from building this error; so I will simply have to return it for
credit and wait for them to issue me credit for this one charge
my account for the additional one I will get in tomorrow’s shipment. I made 3 attempts to straighten this error out, but you cannot
enter all things that can go incorrect into computor questions. Sometimes you need to talk to a person. When we finally get this
order straight, I will no longer buy books from anyone that will
not let you talk to a human being to get mistakes straightened
out. The book above was a fantastic read and Byron Katie’s work is
really in a class all by itself; the logical way she goes about
solving our problems from the inside out.

My advise is not to buy an e-book or audio book here. I’ve gotten the run around for over 15 days now. I’ve heard this is wonderful. I’m really frustrated. I establish this too hard to order or get a resalution if you have a problem with your download, it didn’t work, and I called and told them 3 diffrent times and waited for a techincal response for 48 hours each, this has taken way too much time. I could have ordered this snall mail, it would have been quicker. The 4th time I just canseled this order, but waiting for verification to reorder the CD snail mail. I hope will be posted, it’s not in favor of ordering auto!

The review quoted in the editorial reviews from Library Journal states: “But, Katie and coauthor/spouse Mitchell, a translator of the Bhagavad Gita…” How did the reveiwer come to the conclusion that just because they co-authored a book, Byron Katie and Stephen Mitchell are married? Huge news if right, but I doubt it is, as Byron regularly refers to her spouse in her workshops as a name who is not the least bit interested in enlightenment or her work, but graciously puts up with it. Therefore, this fake statement should be corrected in the public record.

What was I thinking when I ordered this book. This is going to be a quick return. If I didn’t have a job, and I didn’t have a life, and if I had nothing better to do, I would read this book. Following the contemplative steps outlined in this book is fantastic for the Zen crowd, but I just have to pass. If I needed this much in depth review of myself, I would seek professional help and perhaps tablets. Applying these four simple questions and effective them through in detail might be possible in considering the life of my cat, but for my continuing 45 years of human being, I would rather not. Before you pay for this one, consider the work, and the depth of your life that you will be questioned to examine. One thing comes to mind, “go on”.
