With a last name of Buffet, I was curious to find out what Peter Buffet had to say about life. Overall, this is a excellent book, especially for the “privileged” and the well-to-do families.
Throughout the book, the leader relates from his personal experience and lays out a path for the parents, the children and individuals to define what “success” means and find their craft. We are not born equal yet no one deserves anything. The well-to-do should have more choices on their profession yet they are regularly agreed fewer choices to only do what’s perceived to fit their status and lifestyle. For the ones who know their bliss (i.e. to have passion and what they are excellent at), one has to work hard, prepare for setbacks and learn from the mistakes.
I have permanently admired Warren Buffet for his investment genius, frugality and personality. From this book, I learned about his vision of family tree and life philosophy that he instilled in his children. It’s appealing to hear from the children’s perspective. The leader seems to have genuinely embraced his father’s philosophy. He convinces me it is a hugh task to define mission and manage a one-billion charity foundation.
“Enough to do anything, but not enough to do nothing” – this should be the parenting philosophy for privileged families. If the children can turn out “normal” and find their own path, they will be able to have a “Life is what they make it”. That is the essential reward.

A bit more liberal than my taste but a refreshing way to look at how we make many of the decisions in our lives. “Be careful what you wish for” is discussed in an brilliant manner that applies to our past, present and future.
It is an simple read and fantastic gift for people of all ages and postions in life.
