Have been pricing out college textbooks on Ebay, Amazon, and the college bookstore. It’s a bloody medieval guild these publishers have going here and professors who insist on the latest editions of texts are aiding and abetting the rip-off.
This is monopolisitic practice if I’ve ever seen it. If the industry doesn’t rachet down this greed-fest, a name else will – and as far as I’m concerned, it can’t take place too quickly. Bring shame on on you all.

I am a fantastic student at college who likes school and I had to take a mandatory history class. I’m not excellent at history and do not like it but since I wanted a excellent grade in the class I had to read this book. This book was confusing to me and was not in a logical order. It kept jumping around from topic to topic in the first part of the book. It was too wordy and did not get to the vital facts.

I received the textbook and it was certainly NOT a new book, as indicated in the ABeal listing. In fact, it had several stickers on it, one of which said USED! The inside pages were in brilliant condition, but the take in was not only scratched and to some extent worn looking, the upper right hand confront of the take in was bent and I paid $120 for the book, and would not have ordered it unless I thought it was truly a NEW book. There were many used copies available, and I chose this one because I wanted a new one. Amazon provided opportunity to contact the vendor (ABeal), and I sent two separate messages, the first one nearly three weeks ago and the second one 8 days ago; the vendor has not responded at all, so I chose to post this negative review. I caution people not to buy books from this vendor.

The book wasn’t terrible but not as advertised. I expected the slight wear on the take in, but the entire thing looked like something had spilled on it and been dried out.
