Product Description
At long last! Gwen Marston has updated her signature Liberated Quiltmaking! The fascination with Gwen’s Liberated Quiltmaking has generated a demand for more, more, more! Introduced in 1996, her distinctive methods for making original quilts are expanded in this new volume including Liberated Square Within-a-Square, Liberated Medallion, and Recut Blocks and Sashing. Gwen presents nine Liberated Quiltmaking processes and each is clearly illustrated with step-by-step instructions, pieced samples, and loads of example quilts. Multiple techniques and variations are agreed. Liberated Quiltmaking II provides a way of effective lacking using templates or set patterns. Truly original quilts result that engage the quilter’s intuition and emotion as well as technical skills.

I have Liberated Quiltmaking 1 and I like it. This book is more of the wonderful. Thank you Gwen Marston.

I was disappointed by this book because many of the quilts were featured in additional books that I already own. Sorry Gwen, but compared to Liberated Quiltmaking (I) the book is mediocre.

An inspiring book, you can work with it easily and give your own interpretation to the models. Nice illustrations too! I specially like the colorfull thoughts and indeed liberated style.

Too many irons in the fire and not enough time to play with thoughts in this book. LOVED the book – I will use the techniques shared in this book.

It’s permanently a bring shame on when one’s favorite books go into out-of-print mode. Especially when you refer to them very regularly, it’s nice to know that another is available on order. Liberated Quiltmaking II is better, though, than reprinting the original, in that we see that Gwen has only sharpened her eye and techniques over the years since the original liberated book appeared. Gwen’s thoughts were radical thinking and sewing in the early ’90’s. While some legendary quilters have “borrowed” Gwen’s original approach to quiltmaking and called it their own, it’s nice to see the source still has juice! Highly recommended for all levels of quiltmaking and quilt collecting.
