Yukl’s text on leadership brings together the vast amount of research that’s been done on the theme. His volume is and readable–although not the type of book you’d want to curl up by the fire with.
I really appreciate that Yukl permanently finds something excellent about to say about any theory he’s critiquing!

…but reads like a VCR manual. This was required reading for a management course at my college. Whenever there was a way around reading, I took it. I’m certain that my fellow students felt similarly. Sorry Mr. Yukl.
