After desperate vampires, werewolves, and witches across the country start calling in to share their woes, her new show is a raging success. But it’s Fund who can use some help. With one sexy werewolf-hunter and a few homicidal undead on her tail, Fund may have bitten off more than she can chew…

To tell you the truth im reasonably suprised to see so many positive remarks
towards this book. I wrote another review of this book which was most
certainly NOT in praise of this book and it was deleted. Ill try again
this time ill be more ”Amazon savy”. This book had some fantastic thought’s
but to tell you the truth i wish it was written by a name else. The
tale lacked and right vision past Carrie Vaugns own limited perspective.
Thumbs down, Thumbs way down. I personally am for the more developed
sense when it comes to storytelling there is a definitive instinct
that comes into play. It is indistinguishable from fact and fiction.
The book very may well be but if the writer does not have any sense
then it might as be ”make judge”. Ive read too many excellent books
to know this one was terrible. No disrespect to Vaughn, sorry i did not
like your book at all, excellent luck. There is a reason why some books
and some authors have bestselling books. I hope people give persons
books a chance. Then when it comes to grade a book like this you
may grade it sub-par or mediocre because you know the difference.
Im sorry miss Vaugn it’s not that i didnt like your book. Just
not much at all, that’s all.

I keep trying every new paranormal hoping to run into a tale with teeth and substance. As a replacement for I keep running into chick lit with a non human character thrown in. As a replacement for of a strong book with strong characters I keep finding books with misunderstood, place upon heroines. I couldn’t even get past the first few chapters. Borrow this one.

Geez, I miss Buffy the Vampire Slayer SO MUCH.
So I’ve been trying some of the (many) new paranormal series to try to fill that hole. The upshot here is that I liked Fund very much, but the plot was underdeveloped and the ending left me cold. I’ll definately check out the next installment, but hope for better.

A different turn on vampires and were-wolfs. Look forwards to the next one or two or three…..

There are plenty of additional reviews that list all the things that make this book very enjoyable. The only thing that bothered me were the sexual scenes in the book – Carrie describes these scenes in lengthy detail, but they really don’t add anything to the tale. There is one exception, because it’s not really sexual – after every full moon, the “pack” wakes up in a tangle (“dogpile”) of naked bodies, which is depicted as a feeling of closeness and belonging, not as something sexual.
I really loved this book, and will order the sequel. But if there are sex scenes, I’ll probably skip over them.
