I selected up the first Sirantha Jax book years ago, expecting a basic science fiction novel, but boy was I farther from the truth. One of the toughest genres I personally reflect to do a fine job of writing is science fiction romance and Ann Aguirre has done a damn excellent job at mixing the two fluidly. Regularly books may fail to provide insight or depth to characters, as a replacement for focusing on tech and logistic, fluff that I can’t seem to get through. Or vice versa where one could be considered a straight hard core romance novel. Deftly blending the two, Aguirre is undoubtedly one of my favorite authors and wtih Killbox it is no different. Although Killbox was reasonably more relaxed than the last novel, there was never a dull moment to spare, but rest assured persons fans who delight in that small string of romance in their novels won’t be disappointed. I certainly wasn’t and the depth and number of her characters are what kept me reading and ravenous for more. Not to mention the ending of Killbox that left me straining for more. Anyone who hasn’t ongoing the series should certainly start with the first. You won’t regret it.

I am copying my Goodreads review over here because I wish to see this series get as much advancement as it can!
It is going to be impossible to suffer another year after this newest incredible installment in Jax’s world. Each book has been more unbelievable than the last. Killbox has left me breathless in its wake with equal amounts of excitement, like and pain. Everyone has grown immensely, many who we never thought possible. The battles are their most extreme and where most would turn tail and hide, Jax and her friends find themselves surrounded by a maturing band of brothers who are all willing to give entirely.
I find it hard not to get emotional just thinking about everything that has happened in this book. And even more so, in what may come to pass. My mind is still reeling. When will the sadness and loss end? What new extremes must they implore beat the odds? How will they overcome lacking losing themselves in the process?
I do have the uttermost faith that Jax and March will reap the rewards in the end. Their like has grown beyond measure, impossible to even name. You feel everything with them and you just know, no matter what they must suffer, they have become the undeniable one and only for each additional. Their friendships have solidified as well, building every potential loss that much more fierce. It’s scary to reflect about how they all started, but you experience the greatest pleasure seeing the forceful-knit family tree they have become.
I absolutely cannot recommend this series enough. One of my top favorites, permanently.

I was just roaming the sci-fi section in a book two years ago for something different to read. That is when I came across the first book in the Sirantha Jax series(Grimspace)and I’ve been hooked ever since. Killbox is just as excellent as Grimspace and will capture you from the beginning to the end. This book leaves you wanting more and looking forwards to the next book in this series.
***I highly recommend you read the previous books in this series before reading this book.

This is book 4 of the Grimspace series. Jax is back tearing around the galaxy with March, recruiting an armada of pirates to fight the attack of the Morgut invaders.
The Positives:
Ah…. March is the Commander now, of all the Armada, glorious in his uniform, courageously charging into battles, agonizing over his gal, being so super noble he makes me shiver.
Jax is better than ever, showing ingenuity, and enough guts for 10 heroes.
I like the interplay between the alien Vel and Jax and the relationships deepen and erect with most of the additional characters too. They make mistakes, they like, sacrifice, ache, suffer loneliness, and it makes them all the more real as they divert all their efforts into nobly trying to save the galaxy.
Seriously, this is a fantastic series, that has way more emotional funds of characters that any additional sci-fi.
The negatives are:
A) In this universe, they practice Mary worship, implying that Christianity will not withstand the ages – a theme I find to be incomprehensible.
B) Jax and March are apart – AGAIN. This time while they’re saving the universe, they have to deny their personal relationship blah blah blah, it’s like they just can’t be pleased for more than 5 minutes then,
C) Jax up and does something at the end of the book – You’ll have to read it for yourself – the something which if she survives will permanently estrange her from March.
D) If Jax survives – there is a cliffhanger — She has seriously bleeped up all interstellar travel and probably killed everyone currently traveling in grim space….
Now comes the colossal interminable wait for book 5 to come out. That’s the largest negative of all.

Sirantha Jax, March and their crew struggle with ending the death and destruction of jumpers in Grimspace. But as the peril from the man-eating Morgut expands, the Conglomerate has need of March. They want March to train an Armada whose missions will be to take the war to the deadly pirates and the Morgut.
Jax considers a perilous trek jumping through Grimspace lacking the use of beacons. Hesitating she wonders if her new nanotechnology will enable her to do the jump or kill her. But, while she vacillates, Jax also knows time is running out.
The fourth Jax science fiction (see Doubleblind, Itchy feet and Grimspace) continues the outer space escapes of the heroine and to some extent less March in the dark (sort of like leaping in grimspace lacking a beacon) bleak Aguirre universe. The tale line is quicker than the speed of light as Jax goes from one thrilling adventure to another though she is much more mature but still her philosophy remains shoot first or be killed; questions are beside the point if you are dead. Fans of the saga will need to set aside time as Killbox is a terrific taut thriller, which sets up book five; newcomers can jump right in and appreciate this entry, but will relish it much more with the reading backlist.
