Jesus, Interrupted: Revealing the Hidden Contradictions in the Bible
Where to buy Jesus, Interrupted: Revealing the Hidden Contradictions in the Bible books online?
Product Description
Alternative up where Bible practiced Bart Ehrman’s New York Times bestseller Misquoting Jesus left off, Jesus, Interrupted addresses the larger issue of what the New Tribute really teaches—and it’s not what most people reflect. Here Ehrman reveals what scholars have unearthed:
- The authors of the New Tribute have diverging views about who Jesus was and how salvation works
- The New Tribute contains books that were forged in the names of the apostles by Christian writers who lived decades later
- Jesus, Paul, Matthew, and John all represented fundamentally different religions
- Customary Christian doctrines—such as the suffering messiah, the divinity of Jesus, and the trinity—were the inventions of still later theologians
These are not idiosyncratic perspectives of just one modern scholar. As Ehrman skillfully demonstrates, they have been the standard and widespread views of critical scholars across a full spectrum of denominations and traditions. Why is it most people have never heard such things? This is the book that pastors, educators, and anyone interested in the Bible have been waiting for—a clear and compelling account of the central challenges we face when attempting to reconstruct the life and message of Jesus.

This book is heresy. I am praying for the leader and persons who fall for this work and judge its lies.

A pot pourri of anti-Christian non-sequiturs, opinion from outrage and warmed over Dawkins-isms. *Yawn*. Passages that are complementary and make perfect sense together are turned into “contradictions” and set at odds against one another by crass, ignorant or inaccurate interpretations. “Contradictions” are thus made ex-nihilo by Ehrman’s hostile worldview and by nothing else.

Disclosure: I have not read this book.
I find it appealing in understanding Mr. Ehrman is using 200 years of biblical erudition to base his book. The Bible is nearly 2000 years ancient. Maybe one should consult the Early Church Fathers to see what persons closest to Christ’s time taught and believed. I can’t conjure up one excellent reason why Mr. Ehrman’s opinion should be taken over persons who really learned from Christ’s Apostles.
Nothing new here just more of the same new age speechifying.

The leader recently claimed he was no longer a Christian. But, he has no problem with “still building hay” selling books about about Jesus.

This book represents another poor attempt to discredit the Bible and Christianity. Bart’s arguements are filled with holes, just like the DaVinci Code. He needs to get a real job and stop trying to make a living by showing his lack of knowledge and his intollerance against persons who reflect and judge differently than what he believes.
His book is a waste of time and is simply his own personal ‘rant’ against the Bible.
