Honestly, I’ve never been an Iron Man fangirl, I tended to stick to the mystical and mutant side of the Marvel universe. After reading Matt Fraction’s X-Men/Dark Avengers crossover: Utopia X, and his X-Men run, I’ve become a fan of his, so when some friends suggested Invincible Iron Man, I figured, why not.
So seeing the $24 fee tag on a $40 omnibus made me go yet to be and get it, and let me tell you, even at full fee it would have been a fantastic bang for its buck. The art is gorgeous, the tale was well paced, and not mired in unnecessary backstory.
Highly recommend this book if you’re an Iron Man fan, and certainly recommending this to anyone wanting to get into the character.

ivincible iron man under writer matt faction is reasonably possibly one of the most levelheaded graphic novels i have ever read. coming straight out of marvel civil war most people might not be the largest fan of iron man/tony stark, this book will show you his side and his remorse to the situation. brilliant book fantastic writer… what’s left to say?

The art and storyline are of the highest quality in this omnibus of the first 19 issues of the invincible iron man.

I painstakingly loved reading this and any casual Iron Man fan or longtime fan will as well. Fantastic format, fantastic writing, fantastic artwork. At times the artwork and tan was stunning- some of the page layouts worthy of framing.
I know this title was launched about the same time as the 2008 Iron Man movie and it shows in a excellent way. Its hard to say which inspired who as there are many acquiescent themes and details that are shared nearly as if they co-existed at times.
I particularly like the Dark Rein tie-in “Most Wanted” in the last half of the book. This just kept getting better and better- the cat-and-mouse between Tony and Norman Osborn with the supporting cast of Pepper Pots, Maria Hill, Madam Masque, Crimson Dynamo, and Black Widow. The smallest complaint I had was that while the overall art and layouts were spectacular- Norman Osborn just didn’t look right to me- too young and not crazy enough. Minor nitpick I know but I loved how Mike Deodato draws Norman in Dark Avengers- makes him look like Tommy Lee Jones!

I haven’t read an Iron Man comic until this book was published. But Invincible Iron Man Omnibus was a really excellent read!
Firsly, the tale is very light on current Marvel Comics events and can be loved even if all you’ve seen is the Iron Man movies. You would get some more out of it if you have read the ‘Secret Invasion’ trade paperback before, but it’s not required. Basically, all you need to know is that the world doesn’t trust Toney Stark as much as they used to because he was leading the world when all his tech failed during a ’secret invasion’. The art is brilliant! Very high quality and maintained for the whole 19 issues!
