Inside Reporting: A Practical Guide to the Craft of Journalism
Where to buy Inside Reporting: A Practical Guide to the Craft of Television journalism books online?
Product Description
This text does for reporting what Tim Harrower’s The Newspaper Designer’s Handbook has previously done for design: make it fun and accessible to newcomers. Harrower is an award-winning editor, designer and columnist who has previously taught at Portland State University and currently conducts television journalism workshops. Inside Reporting emphasizes the basics but also provides a wealth of information on online reporting and packaging tales in more visual, interactive ways. It also includes more useful information on feature writing–from tales to reviews and column-writing–than any additional text in the meadow.

I have seen many television journalism books, and this one is simply the best IMO. I can’t wait to buy the second edition when it comes out!

I’ve used this book through two television journalism classes and let me tell you that it is an brilliant book. It teaches nearly every style of journalistic writing and included actual television journalism articles in the back of the book. It is also very entertaining to read unlike many dry college textbooks. I will keep this book for as long as I’m writing anything in life.

Initially, I was not pleased that the book was required for a television journalism class I am taking; but, it’s very informative and fun to read. The leader provides a lot of information and examples. The layout and presentation of the material keeps it from being dull — one of the better text books i’ve used

This is a fantastic textbook for beginning journalists. It is not dull, dry, and dull. It is amusing and covers the basics in a simple way.

When I bought this book I establish the title from a previous school that I went to. I knew that I was going to get an in-depth book, because of the university that uses it. But, I was not expecting this book to be so creative!! This is not your predictable book. Your average “textbooks” have chapter after chapter of “how-tos” and give past backgorund. The layout of this book is similar to that of a magazine with various “articles”, past facts and review questions. It makes for an simple read (so simple I judge a teenager could know it). This book also offers an online student website that gives review of terminology, additional review questions, and many additional things.(There is no need for special key or access codes. Yay!)
If you are able to get this at a fantastic fee then this is a certain “must have” book and worth the investment!
