Product Description
The three laws of Robotics:
1) A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm
2) A robot must obey orders givein to it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3) A robot must protect its own being as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
With this, Asimov changed our perception of robots forever when he formulated the laws governing their behavior. In I, Robot, Asimov chronicles the development of the robot through a series of interlinked tales: from its primitive origins in the present to its essential perfection in the not-so-distant future–a future in which humanity itself may be rendered obsolete.
Here are tales of robots gone mad, of mind-read robots, and robots with a sense of humor. Of robot politicians, and robots who secretly run the world–all told with the dramatic blend of science fact & science fiction that became Asmiov’s trademark.Amazon.com Review

I cant judge it! I saw the movie with Will Smith. I thought that the movie was decent so I chose to read the book. I have to say I am disappointed with Isaac Asimov for waisting my time. By the second tale, I was ready for a new book. There is no action. I waited for there to be some, but sorry to say, my waiting didn’t pay off. Definetely one of the worst books I have ever read! If 0 stars were possible, this book would have 0 stars.

This book was terrible, unadorned and simple! I couldn’t imagine anyone else having to suffer through reading I, Robot. Its really a piece of trash.

I read the book after seeing the movie, and I was very disappointed. I expect a small variation between the two, usually the books have more detail, and some detail about the robots would have been appealing. But I have no thought where they got the thought for the movie from this book. Will Smith’s character is not even in the book. The only similarities were the three laws, and Dr. Calvin. If you liked the movie, I would not even read the book.

OK, for the life of me, I cannot know how Asimov has come to be revered as a fantastic of science fiction. The dialog in this book is so overly simplistic one would reflect it’s targeted for a grade school student. (Hmmm…On second thought, that’s an insult to all grade-schoolers out there.) Characters are predictably dramatic, and the plots (yes, plots…this is a series of fleeting tales, not a novel) certainly cross the line (and make leaps and bounds into the land) of ludicrousness. Case in point: The robot that reads minds, and has a conversation with a roboticist about the fact that she’s in like with another roboticist. (Are you serious here, Izzy?!!!)
In fleeting, don’t buy this garbage. Opt for any of Arthur C. Clarke’s books as a replacement for. (Childhood’s End, for example, would be an brilliant alternative.)

Going to the dentist and having root canal would sound more appealing than being subjected to reading this book. As it was required reading by our school, may I say, it place a damper on the summer. The last tale, in the series, was the largest yawn of all, and if it wasn’t for coffee, I would have nodded off completely. (Two thumbs down on this one.)
