This is a charming small book – only 80 pages long. It could have been a *lot* shorter. It’s filled with lovely and tempting photography.
Don’t expect too much from this book. Let’s face it – we’re talking about tiny small pastries, about an inch in diameter. There’s not a lot of meat and substance to the pastry, and there’s not a lot of meat and substance to the book.
But for $10, it’s not a terrible deal. Very pretty and nice, with yummy sounding recipes.
Seriously – the book could have been about 10 pages long. The rest is gorgeous fluff. But it is gorgeous, and enjoyable. Worth the money.

I pre-ordered 5 of these books when I establish it on the publisher’s soon to be unrestricted site. Permanently on the lookout for perfect gifts, this was a slam dunk choice for fellow friend that adore this perfect French delight.
The photos break down the process and choices so well. It even offers suggested flavor and filling combos. I can’t wait to try out a recipe!

I thought this would be the end all be all Macaron book… it’s cute and simple but not to the point. If you want to learn to make Macarons polish up your French and buy Pierre Herme’s Macaron book!

I wasn’t sure about ordering the book becasue I had NO IDEA what was inside the pages (no “inside” views on amazon) – but the take in was so sute i couldn’t resist!
the book is filled with lushious images and instructions on how to make macaroons! the instructions are step-by-step with pictures which really helps out the process of building something so delicate and tempermental – took the dread out of building macaroons!
so cute – would be a fantastic gift too!
