Amazon.com Review
With over 100,000 copies in print, Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day has proven that people want to bake their own bread provided they can do it easily and quickly. Knowing that people are changing the way they eat and bake because of health concerns or lifestyle choices, the authors took their customary method and applied it to breads rich in whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. That is where Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day comes in. Health-conscious bread eaters need homemade options more than anyone else. They want tasty bread, but they can’t find the healthy ingredients they’d like to use in traditional bakeries, or in traditional recipes. Whether you are looking for more whole grains, whether you’re lacto-vegetarian, gluten-free, training for a triathlon, trying to cut-rate your cholesterol, or just care about what goes into your body, this book delivers.

For all who learned artisan bread through the first book and for health-conscious breadlovers everywhere, this book is a must-have.

This title hides a lot, there is a lot of work required before ou get to the five minute a day part. i wish I could have looked inside the book a bit more before I bought it, then I wouldn’t have bought it.

I thought the book had many excellent, hearty bread recipes but sorry to say very few pictures, something I reflect is a must for a cookbook. To make matters worse I bought 2 books (one for a gift) Probably would have returned them but I lost track of the time because of the holidays and went beyond the 30 days for returning books.

  3. like the recipes and the instructions are very simple. Haven’t had time to try any recipes yet but am confident they will be excellent. Book came as promised and in time promised

  4. I reflect the book is well-written and was looking forwards to our first loaves with the basic recipe. Sorry to say, the first tasted like baked wet cardboard. The subsequent loaves which were made a week later had the sourdough quality to it, but still not fantastic-tasting bread. All my ingredients were fresh, I measured carefully, but I am disappointed in the end product.

This book provides a doable method for building privileged fiber breads at home. Appealing reading in addition to excellent recipes. A few recipes that I will probably never make – e.g. “beet bread” but gives one another perspective.
