Product Description
Things break all the time.
Day breaks, waves break, voices break.
Promises break.
Hearts break.
Every expectant parent will tell you that they don’t want a perfect baby, just a healthy one. Charlotte and Sean O’Keefe would have questioned for a healthy baby, too, if they’d been agreed the choice. As a replacement for, their lives are made up of sleepless nights, mounting bills, the pitying stares of “luckier” parents, and maybe worst of all, the what-ifs. What if their child had been born healthy? But it’s all worth it because Willow is, well, amusing as it seems, perfect. She’s smart as a whip, on her way to being as pretty as her mother, kind, courageous, and for a five-year-ancient an unexpectedly deep source of wisdom. Willow is Willow, in sickness and in health.
Everything changes, though, after a series of events forces Charlotte and her spouse to confront the most serious what-ifs of all. What if Charlotte should have known earlier of Willow’s illness? What if things could have been different? What if their beloved Willow had never been born? To do Willow justice, Charlotte must question herself these questions and one more. What constitutes a valuable life?
Emotionally riveting and very much moving, Handle with Care brings us into the heart of a family tree bound by an incredible burden, a desperate will to keep their ties from breaking, and, ultimately, a powerful capacity for like. Written with the grace and wisdom she’s become legendary for, beloved #1 New York Times bestselling leader Jodi Picoult offers us an unforgettable novel about the fragility of life and the lengths we will go to protect it.

An avid fan of Picoult, I haven’t read this book yet. On March 3rd I saw it newly arrived on my Kindle. I turned to the three reviews – and all three commented on the $15.35 charge for the book.As Kindle users know, the fantastic majority of books offered cost $9.99. I’ve purchasedsome for FAR LESS than $9.99 – so could well undestand the reviewers’ comments that they’d rather go to a book store and pay for the hard take in copy than pay that much for Kindle’s copy. I bought the gorgeous book on Spiritual Liberation by Michael Beckwith for about $14.00 – but that’s the only book MORE THAN $9.99 that I’ve bought on Kindle ! SOOOOO – I’m pleased to see that TODAY the book is now $9.99. I’m buying a copy right now and am nervous to read it, as I know how wonderful all Picoult’s books are. WHAT HAPPENED TO THOSE FIRST THREE REVIEWS? ? ? Were they quickly deleted when the fee was brought down to where it should have been at the very beginning ? I gave the book 5 stars because I assume it will be as ‘First Rate’ as all her additional books are.

I am really DISGUSTED with this book. I can’t judge that she wrote a book that dealt with this. Okl the OI fine I can see her writing that, it was VERY appealing and SAD! I thought she was VERY informative about the disability. I did NOT like the outcome of the lawsuit and HOW she could even do a lawsuit BASED on “wrongful birth” HOW can any mother/ PERSON say a child that is born was a WRONGFUL birth, OMG that got me!!
I dont like how the lawsuit turned out, ARE YOU SERIOUS?! That should have gone the additional way! She RUINED her friend, a friend that I could ONLY wish for in real life, I felt VERY sad and sorry for her friend and yet she was permanently looking out for Willow and her family tree in the book even when her BEST friend backstabbed her, very sad!!!
I felt SO dreadful at the end of the book, are you KIDDING me, how the heck could she end the book THAT way?! This would be a VERY hard read for Any parent that lost her child. This would be a HARD read for ANY parent that has a disabled child and hearing a wrongful BIRTH lawsuit!
I did NOT like the book, I thought it to be VERY disturbing and I have read EVERY one of Picoult’s books and this was the first and ONLY i can say sucked!

I have not read this book, as I’m waiting to read it on our cruise, but I have read MANY of Jodi Picoult’s books and have NEVER been disappointed by any of them, so I know this will live up to her standard, as well. Can’t wait for the cruise, so I can start reading it!

Most dull book I ever read. I couldn’t even end reading it. I permanently give a book a chance and keep reading, but this book was so terrible I had to give up on it…
