One-Pot Meals for 2 people? I tried building the recipes for 8, but it didn’t work! It is the worst cook book i have ever bought, and i wouldn’t have bought it had I known it was for 2 people!!

What a fun cookbook! Simple and excellent-tasting meals – hard to judge they’re so healthy! You can use this cookbook every night of the week. The recipes will be loved by the whole family tree.

I wasn’t expecting what I got when I ordered this – but I sure like what I got. This book defines a patented method of cooking – who knew you could patent a cooking method? And boy, is it ever a excellent one. Place the food and liquid in the Dutch oven in the order listed, place on the lid, place it in a hot oven, and Voila! In around 40 minutes, give or take, you have a perfect dinner for two. I was really glad that the recipes make this tiny part since I’m a household of one, so I get dinner plus leftovers for another meal, but you can easily increase the recipes by using a larger Dutch oven, multiplying the ingredients, and increasing the cooking time a bit. You can even prepare the pot yet to be of time, keep it in the fridge, and place it in the oven when you get home from wherever you’ve been. Forgot to thaw that chicken or persons pork chops? Frozen food is just fine. Want to use fish or shrimp? Go right yet to be. Tofu? Sure, why not. Lots of healthy grains too. Incredible flexibility here.
The first part of the book clarifies the cooking method, the whys and wherefores of different kinds of Dutch ovens, the basic food stuffs you can use, and the room for variations. You are encourged to get familiar with the method and then branch out on your own, building dinners of your own choosing using the basic principles of the method. I highly recommend this book to persons who have just enough time to throw stuff in a pot and get it in the oven quick. You have 40 minutes or so to do additional stuff while it cooks, then sit down to a nutritionally well rounded and tasty dinner. Does it get any simpler to make it yourself from fresh, healthy ingredients? I don’t reflect so. Like this book!

I was looking for reciepes for braising. This book is no help there. Tried 4 recipes but all were disapointing. Cannot recommend.

We needed a new quilt, so we signed up for the Bed, Bath, and Beyond e-letter so we could get 20% off our buy. Their first ad advertised dutch ovens. Bought one, searched Amazon for cookbooks, ordered this one. We are very health-conscious and are delighted to have establish this way of cooking, so simple, so tasty, so versatile. All the flavors stand out individually, each ingredient is perfectly cooked, meat is moist and fork-tender, veggies are crisp and flavorful, grains are perfect. We feel very fortunate to have establish this and are looking forwards to many meals made this way.
