If you have ever knitted a sock before, this book offers nothing new. Certainly for beginners only.

Arrived quickly. Bought for daughter who had researched books on knitting socks for beginners, and felt this one would be the best among them. We’ll have to wait a while to see if any socks come into the world!

I bought this book based on its fantastic reviews. I am finding it very hard to follow. The authors keep referring to Needle 1, Needle 2, and Needle 3 and then say see Figure 1, 2 etc. —- well, none of the Facts have any labeling on them as to which needle is which. I don’t know what the additional sock books are like, but I don’t recommend this one.

I bought this book thinking it came with magic…it didn’t. I expected step-by-step simple directions for basic socks, what I got was how to do a gauge swatch followed by a couple of patterns that one might very well find for free online. It just wasn’t happening for me. Im sure I’ll pick this book up years from now and like the patterns, but right now, I find the book to be personally useless. I should mention that I’m a visual learner (via youtube and such) and I dont permanently swear an oath to swatches. A name who relies entirely on swatches and reading material to learn how to knit would probably get a lot out of this book. Just so you know, this book does not include courage, patience, or magic powder that keeps your DPNs from sliding. It does, but, have lovely pictures.

Fantastic book!! I borrowed it from my library and realized that I wanted to own it. Anyone who wants to knit socks should buy this book. It is the best one of its kind.
