Amazon.com Review
Mysterious and sexy, Maximillian Holt moves into Jamie Swift’s life like a steamroller. She’s the owner of a tiny town newspaper and he’s a notorious, brilliant billionaire–what could they possibly have in common? Rumor has it that reasonably a lot, for besides their mutual affection for Max’s airhead sister Deedee and his investment in Jamie’s struggling business, they share an explosive sexual chemistry. Sorry to say, Jamie’s already engaged to be married. But when a name sprays her office with gunfire, only Max can save her. Now she’ll have to rely on him to sort out the tangle of embezzlement, mayhem, and attempted murder that threatens her bucolic world of Beaumont, South Carolina. But if they unravel the mysteries and manage to stay alive, is there any hope for a shared future between a cosmopolitan guy committed to tracking down evil and a tiny-town girl who just wants a normal life?
Authors Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes have paired up to make a quick-paced, wacky novel filled with eccentric characters and southern ambiance. In the time-honored tradition of such detective couples as Nick and Nora Charles (The Thin Man, After the Thin Man) the hero and heroine trade quips and parry sexual innuendos with panache while easily deciphering clues and adroitly coping with danger. Readers will painstakingly delight in this Jamie Swift/Max Holt adventure, the first in a new series from this leader duo. –Lois Faye Dyer

First rate voice performer Lorelei King gives a full throttle reading to “Full Tilt,” the second audiobook by a pair of savvy tale spinners, Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes.
Silent, serene Beaumont, South Carolina, is in for a few jolts as is newspaper owner Jamie Swift. Enamored with her work and small else, Jamie is rocked back on her heels when handsome billionaire Maximillian Holt comes to town. His presence, he claims, is to help his brother-in-law win political office. (Brother-in-law is a ex- wrestler who has many questions about where the town’s tax dollars are going).
All’s well until a name takes deadly aim at both Maximillian and Jamie.
In addition to murderers, a wacko poacher, and an over-the-hill stripper there are enough outre characters to fill more than one b&b.
If you like your felons far-out, this one’s for you.

I thought the book was very excellent. I loved reading it from front to back. The characters were well developed so that I felt as if I really knew each of them. Max, the main character, is a man’s man. He was heroic, strong, intelligent, and a gentleman. The co-star of the book is Jamie; a very independent determined individual of whom I had lots of respect. And then there was Beenie. I loved this character. The way his actions were described in the book caused me to have no problem imagining what he looked like, his personality, and his actions. I thought he was cute as could be. I encourage all to read the book. You will delight in it.

What fun! Evanovich’s wit with characters, dialogue, and circumstances is evident throughout. The characters are edgy but believable and lots of fun. While the back jacket promise of “steamy sex” isn’t fulfilled, the rest is right. It was a quick, fun, LOL book. Evanovich and Hughes are a fantastic team. I’m looking forwards to “Full Speed” and hoped to pre-order with “To The Nines” but will have to be uncomplaining.

my book was about this one girl Jamie who owns a newspaper company and she and her partner were being chased and were nearly killed. Then they establish who was trying to kill them and the guy finished up getting killed. This book was really appealing.
