We have permanently liked Frommers and have subscribed to his “Budget Travel” magazine for some years now. In unfamiliar areas we like having a second opinion on lodging from [..] and Frommers fits the bill. More thorough that Rick Steves guides (which we heavily rely upon)… Sorry to say,as a result of the size we usually “tear out” sections before we place rather that take the whole guide book with us.
