Product Description
Bestselling novelist Carl Hiaasen is back with another hysterical mystery adventure for young readers, set in the Florida Keys.
You know it’s going to be a rough summer when you spend Father’s Day visiting your dad in the local lockup.
Noah’s dad is sure that the owner of the Coral Queen casino boat is flushing raw sewage into the harbor–which has made taking a dip at the local beach like swimming in a toilet. He can’t prove it though, and so he decides that sinking the boat will make an effective statement. Right. The boat is pumped out and back in business within days and Noah’s dad is stuck in the clink.
Now Noah is determined to make it where his dad failed. He will prove that the Coral Queen is dumping illegally . . . somehow. His allies may not add up to much–his sister Abbey, an unreformed childhood biter; Lice Peeking, a greedy sot with poor hygiene; Shelly, a bartender and a woman scorned; and a mysterious pirate–but Noah’s got a plot to flush this crook out into the open. A plot that should sink the bent small casino, once and for all.

I despise to judge a book by its take in, especially one I’ve never read, but if the tale of this book is anything like its front take in then I’m sure it is really excellent and worth buying. The fish framed by the toilet bowl is really brilliant, and I’m pretty sure that the tale must be about a fish flushed down the toilet, but somehow managed to live. I’m not sure where the hook comes in. Just imagine the sorts of things this tiny fish had to live through to be free, and the tales it must have! Just thinking about this small fish’s adventures makes me nearly want to read the book.

I expected more from this leader. His books have steadily gone down hill. I hope he is laughing all the way to the bank. If he or his editors thought this was a excellent book then they need some help. The book was not amusing and no one could judge the plot. I want a refund.

This would be a excellent candidate to have been on the Mickey Mouse Club in the ’60’s. I remember loving ‘Spin and Marty’ when I was age appropriate for it, but I doubt whether I’d be very entertained today. I’ve read several of this guy’s books because a friend permanently passes them on but I doubt I’d ever buy one myself. They all sound alike; this one, targeted at a younger crowd, merely has fewer obscene vocabulary and situations. If you’ve read one, you’ve read them all.

Absolutely dreadful. I have read all of Hiaasen’s previous books and permanently loved them. They aren’t fantastic masterpieces, but they were permanently amusing. I reflect Hiaasen phoned this one in. I could spend an hour telling you how stupid this book is, but I won’t waste my time. I advise everyone not to waste their time reading it.

It was not clear to me from the book take in reviews but this is targeted for teenage readers, not adults.
