I like all these self help books, but to see concrete examples of a name in need and how she survived, I would also suggest the book MY LAST REMAINS by Jill (also on amazon)

As a mindfulness based psychotherapist, leader and teacher, I establish the advice in this book to be very helpful. I find that when such excellent strategies as open here are combined with mindfulness meditation, which provides a way of of establishing a healthy, non-reactive inner therapeutic space in which hard emotions, depression, anxiety and trauma can heal. If you want to couple this sound advice with the healing power of mindfulness, then I also recommend ‘The Path of Mindfulness Meditation’ by Dr Peter Strong, an in-depth exploration of mindfulness meditation.

I have used EFT (meridian therapy/emotional freedom techniques/acu-tapping) for perhaps 10 years, and helped start a local EFT group. This book is one of the best introductions to EFT, very calming and supportive for people with severe anxiety & trauma — written by a psychotherapist with 30 years experience.
Gloria Arenson covers many issues, e.g. overcoming trauma, dread of rejection, self-sabotage, performance anxiety, financial stress, phobias & fears, panic attacks – as well as healing one’s diseases, allergies and insomnia. It’s a fantastic introductory book, interspersed with illustrative case tales – e.g. a tale about a dog with a inflated paw that returns to normal, as soon as the owner starts acu-tapping.
In our local group we also have had many miraculous tales, even with animals — e.g. one of our members once tapped for a goldfish that was floating up-side-down, looking dead, and it recovered within minutes.
Gloria Arenson says: “when you make Meridian Therapy part of your daily life, you will experience more joy” and “it can be learned in minutes and relieve a lifetime of emotional pain”! Yes, agreed. The method can be so amazingly successful that it is hard to judge, until people start hard it themselves. The success rate seems to be above 80%, even for amateurs. Fantastic book.
