I like this book because it kept my interest and I really wanted to know how it would all turned out in the end. It did not disappoint me. I would also like to add that if you like books like I do, read IDENTITY ASSUMPTION by new leader Raymond Beresford Hamilton. I was lucky enough to meet the leader at a book signing in Yongsan, Seoul, Korea, while I was on trip there last month and I got a signed copy of the book. I concluded reading it in a fleeting time because I had to know how the tale would turn out and I must add it really held my interest! I was surprised by its very intriguing and suspenseful storyline, lots of twist and turns. And then I was pleased by its ending, a very excellent read. It did not disappoint my eagerness to know how it would all unfold. This is very impressive work, a fantastic storyline.

Well this is tough… I have to justify a 3 star review for a guide that innately has all the information a name needs. I wont say this is a terrible guide but what I will insinusate is that I wish I never bought it. Ill start with a quick intoduction to the guide.
The guide itself has everything you could want, cahracter info, maps, locations, enemy faq, boss strategy, side quests, etc. But assuming your taking the time to read (my) review about the guide, there must be some questions about whether or not to make the buy. Hence my advice to you is…
…THERE IS ABSOULUTELY NO REASON TO BUY THIS GUIDE (now refer to the title)
Question yourself why your buying the guide… Are you trying to get all the items? The games linear to the point that you can find items quicker by exploring the map than looking up their locations in a book.
Do you need help defeating a boss? Doubtful… the bosses are honestly straighforward – expose their weakness and the CPU automatically proceeds by using the best attack.
Do you need help with the sidequests? Again doubtful, there are a very limited handful and their all straightforward…
AH… but you say your lost and cannot find your way! If this is the case, place down the controller and get checked for progressive demetia IMMIDIATLY. (Print this out so you dont forget). The game is THAT linear that fleeting of a degenerative brain disease, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get lost…
The game does a honestly excellent job at explaining the battle system and chains. Also if you die you can retry a battle so the pressure to *survive or game over* is all but absent.
The only part that one may need strategy is on the Eidelon battles. They can be honestly tough and point strategy is needed.
If you want to but this guide to look at how different chain combinations progress, see point enemy info, or just to have it as a keep sake, go for it. But there is no reason that I can reflect of that a name would really need to USE the guide for any reason whatsoever.
*UPDATE*
As one of the commentors mentioned, a person *may* want to look at some of the maps on the last few chapters (11-13) though it is still pretty straight forwards. Additionally, the guide also lists the weapon upgrade multipliers, though I thought it was simple enough lacking a multiplier guide, especially with organic components for sale easily increasing your experience bonus to 200%. I personally still wish I held out on buying the guide.

Fantastic graphics and tale line. The leveling up is different but reminds me of Final Fantasy X. Fantastic addition to anyones RPG library.

i preorder it thinking that it was just going to be another run of the mill. and what i got was a hardcover book filled with awesomeness- the only downside is that i couldnt get my hands off it and ran into some potential spoilers for me. which i reflect already messed up my experience. lol but thats my fault. there were only what.? 210.000 so im lucky to one.

This strategy guide is easily the best I have ever owned and at a very excellent fee (while they lasted). The limited edition is sold out, so I suppose this review will have limited use. I’m sure the guide will be sold used though. I’d like to inclination his review by adage I bought this guide to use, not to be a collector’s item.
First of all the guide is hardcover which really helps it look excellent and will help it survive the test of time very well. Paperback guides permanently have a problem of pages separating from the binding and the covers getting bent out of shape after repeated use.
Every limited edition of this guide includes its number out of the 210,000 printed on the inside take in.
Another feature is the quality of the paper, it is far thicker paper than you’ll get in a paper back edition. The possible downside of this for some people will be this guide is thicker than the paperback, which also makes it heavier. I find this to be a positive personally and not a negative, but your views may be different.
Finally, the limited edition contains a few extra pages in the back as a tale synopsis. It’s a nice touch, but the words themselves are not something you would miss since you can get a tale synopsis in the game itself. But, each of the extra pages also contains additional art images which make it worth it in my opinion.
As for content itself, it’s identical to the regular paper back edition (minus the tale synopsis). I have establish the content to be very excellent and very informative. I have not come across the copious typos and errors that I’ve seen in BradyGame guides which is a nice improvement. The maps are nicely laid out and treasure locations and contents are clearly marked, long with save locations and points of interest.
People complain that the game is 100% linear and you only have to press the up button. Well, yes you could do that, but you’d miss out on a lot of treasure which the guide nicely points out.
Boss strategies do the job they’re supposed to do. I’ve had a small distress following a couple of them, but that could also be due to user error. I wanted to see strategies that would get you a five star rating, but several give me zero to two star ratings following their advice. The bottom line is though that the star rating means nothing in boss fights, aside from the amount of time it takes to kill the boss, so a safer and surer way to win is probably best. These can be reasonably long in FFXIII and if something goes incorrect at the end of a boss fight (I’m looking at you Chapter 9 boss) you’ll find yourself looking at another 15 minute boss fight.
Overall I’m very pleased with this guide and it far exceeded my expectations. This is easily a 5 out of 5 stars for me. If you were unsure about “Piggyback” as opposed to BradyGames I can assure you this guide is far better in both physical quality and content quality.
