Mr Humphery says that this is just options for persons that are terminally ill. I had a friend in College whose parents were permanently screaming at him for his grades, he made Bs and As but they wanted all “A”s. The week of exams, he did not show up for any of them, his parents did not know where he was. He was establish that Friday, with a plastic bag over his head and an empty bottle of pills. He left a note explaining that his parents drove hom to this for not building excellent grades. By his side was a copy of “Final Exit”. I marvel how many depressed people read this book and took their lives.

Mr. Humphrey may reflect that his “don’t kill yourself if you’re just depressed, please call a hotline” admonitions are sufficient to justify publishing such a book as this, but he is reliable for the suffering of many who remain after their loved ones commit suicide. I will never, ever stop feeling the pain of losing my gorgeous, brilliant sister. Am I positive that Mr. Humphrey influenced her? Yes. She left a copy of his book on a computer disk in a folder with her explicit suicide plot and her suicide letters. The only excellent thing I can say is that I am glad she pirated a copy of this book off the web and that Mr. Humphrey received no financial profit from her death. Reflect about it: Mr. Humprey makes money each time a suicidal person buys his book and uses it to end his life.
Putting this publication out for widespread, all-purpose availability is grotesquely irresponsible.

Final Exit gave my mother an excuse to place behind four children and a loving spouse. This book was on her bedside table when she pulled the trigger in her bedroom. I guess Mr. Humphrey’s desired result was achieved, but it’s hard to impress an 11-year-ancient with such praise for an eloquently written book when explaining that she got the might to place him behind after it came into her possession.
