I establish this book favorite wife escape from polygamy to be word for word the same as favorite wife trapped in polygamy. I was mad and disapointed that there was no indication of this in the discription we read before ordering.

This was an absolutely brilliant tale of a section of life I hardly believed in – but it’s there. The Mormons have such a different way of life, such different beliefs; and to read a tale by a person who’d lived it was fantastic. But, to find that she had the fortitude to escape from what she eventually didn’t embrace points out how strong some people can be when faced with life’s difficulties.
The leader was married at age 14 to a much older man who at the time had several additional wives. She believed the doctrine that enabled him to do this, learned to live with a few of persons additional wives, had children by this man and tried to find like in that situation. The conditions the families lived in, the beliefs shared – it was astounding to me. There were some really frightening things that occurred, some very unusual people Susan came into contact with – amd some absolutely ordinary ones. After many years of this, her faith started to falter and she establish a way to get out. At the end of the book there is additional information that is very appealing, too.

She kept me interested from the first page to the last. A well-written biography of a polygamist wife that was trapped in an unbelievably hard world of hardship and eventually violence from her brother-in-laws descent to madness. Highly recommended.

I really loved reading this book. I establish it to be a fascinating insight into a foreign lifestyle. I was disappointed but with the editing of the book. There were many typographical errors that look like they come from transference to kindle compatibility. I also establish that when I switched my kindle on and tried to got to the previous page, it would skip back many pages, sometimes to the start of the chapter. Even going forwards a couple of pages first had the same result. Overall a excellent read, although the editing was annoying.
