Product Description
Stealth. Gorgon. Regenerator. Cerberus. Zzzap. The Mighty Dragon. They were heroes. Vigilantes. Crusaders for justice, using their superhuman abilites to make Los Angeles a better place.
Then the plague of living death spread around the globe. Despite the best efforts of the superheroes, the police, and the military, the hungry corpses rose up and overwhelmed the country. The population was decimated, heroes fell, and the city of angels was left a forbidding zombie wasteland like so many others.
Now, a year later, the Mighty Dragon and his companions must overcome their differences and recover from their own scars to protect the thousands of survivors sheltered in their film studio-turned-fortress, the Mount. The heroes lead teams out to scavenge supplies, keep the peace within the walls of their home, and try to be the symbols the survivors so desperately need.
For while the ex-humans walk the streets night and day, they are not the only threat left in the world, and the people of the Mount are not the only survivors left in Los Angeles. Across the city, another group has grown and gained power.
And they are not heroes.

While I was reading this book, as a fan of zombie books, I felt something excellent, something new. I truly felt that this leader brought a new kind of tales to the libraries. It was quick and it was fine. Very rewarding. Thanks

Im not huge on writing up reviews but when I finished this novel I felt some type of obligation to give Mr. Clines a small credit for his work. I agree this book is similar in some ways to Watchmen, but then you throw in some zombies and it changes everything. Cline’s superheros are not perfect, in fact everyone of them is flawed in some way or another. But, this incorporates the reader so much more because we can really tell to them. If you like superhero tales, read this book. If you like zombies, read this tale. If you take place to like both, buy this book right now and strap in.

First off: don’t hesitate on this, on buy it! If there can be Heros there can be Ex Heros (Zombies), and my only complaint is the book finished.
I would agree with others this does read as if watching a movie. It would make a fantastic movie, especially with the special effects capabilities today. It paints a excellent visual and being based in Hollywood you can picture it even if you haven’t been there. The couple of twists in the book were fantastic and not “oh I saw that coming a mile away.” The mix of “now” and “then” chapters is awesome. It is certainly “Watchmen” like, yet doesn’t get as dark as that tale does (for being a zombie tale that is).
I read pretty much everything about PAW but this ranks right up there with the best! I read it in one day and stayed up late to end as I had to ride the whole tale out, couldn’t wait! I want to read a sequel and see this in a movie, as long as the producers didn’t jack it all up with re-writes to make it more ’sell-able’. There are a few spots in the book that you have to suspend disbelief (like with Zzzap’s powers and what he does and doesn’t do with them) but it is quick and you go on. One of the most appealing aspects is the origion and mutation of the virus with the generations and versions of it. There is much more to go into but that is for book club discussions, but I wanted to write this before I stirred on to additional books. I do plot to re-read this as I did Day by Day: Armageddon, which this is equal to if not better!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this book painted both my eyes red. I ongoing reading it around midnight and did not stop until I got to the leader’s Afterword. And here is my unabashed, one-word review:
HUZZAH!!!
But it, read it, like it, but the leader about the sequel. That is all.
