Original review: I was hoping to see that Chef Kenney had taken us beyond agave and stepped up to in excellent health sweetners. It is unfortunate that the current findings back up what many suspected all along, that agave really is terrible for you. It did seem to be the perfect sweetner!
I own and really delight in several of the leader’s books but because of the heavy use of agave, this one won’t be in my collection.
The desserts in the preview look gorgeous, the recipes I am sure are tasty. Matt Kenney has a real talent effective with raw food and building incredible stuff.

Just got the book and the take in makes me want to eat it. YUM-O! I have all of his books and have been a active raw foodist so getting this book has been worth the wait. I have made the chocolate chip cookies before from the Everyday raw book which my picky son likes so much he keeps eating all of it! Matthew seems to write from the heart and soul of being a raw food lacto-vegetarian. In this book, he writes that his goal is to show how restaurant-style desserts are easily made with small time. For a raw foodist, this book may make you pine for desserts 24 hrs, 7 days a week. For the person that is looking for some raw lacto-vegetarian desserts that tastes excellent, makes you feel excellent and not that much of a hassle, this is the book for you. The only issue is for a name that has nut allergies, the amount of cashew/mac flour that is used will be a problem.

I just received the book and it is beyond gorgeous!!
The take in alone, makes me want to drop everything and make one of persons pies for myself!!
(And I do mean for MYSELF!)
I like all of Matthew’s books, but I’m a dessert-freak, so this one is perfect for me!
The recipes are simple to know and there aren’t a ton of ingredients required, like in some books.
And the photographs are absolutely gorgeous!
