The content of the book is superb, hands down it is definately one of the better Indian cuisine books out there, but my new copy arrived with many of the pages uncut. I managed to get them cut pretty neatly but it doesn’t look as excellent as it could have. If you are thinking of giving this as a gift or later resale, better check it carefully.

Received it in the mail today, and while I have not tried any of the recipes yet, I have read through to see how “intricate” they were going to be. I am delightfully surprised, very few of them, if any, seem intricate or troublesome at all. I live in an area where access to certain produce and ingredients are hard to come by, but for the most part, that will not be a problem with these. And Bal gives small “tales” as preludes to the recipes that makes the cookbook more enjoyable. I am momentously pleased with my new buy!!!

I have been fortunate enough to catch a few episodes of Flavor Goddess with Bal Arneson. This cookbook is a wonderful companion to her show. The recipes are straight forwards and delightful. I would recommend this cookbook to anyone who is thinking about venturing into the world of indian food. Delight in!

I am a new cook and stumbled upon Bal Arneson’s show “Flavor Goddess” on the cooking channel. If you like the show I reflect you will delight in this book. (I like the show). I would clarify both the show and this cookbook as down to planet, intelligent, warm, colorful and inspiring. For me this book, like the show, provides just the right amount of information in a pleasing colorful format that makes learning both delightful and simple. Clearly Bal Arneson is a natural teacher. She strikes a excellent balance between describing ingredients/explaining the steps well for a beginner cook lacking getting bogged down in too much in detail, and she adds personal touches lacking losing me in the tale telling. I like that her recipes are so healthful lacking sacrificing taste. I am very pleased I bought this cookbook – every recipe I have tried has been flavorful and tasty!
