Product Description
Dr. Romanov’s Pose Method Of Running brings his revolutionary thoughts that changed the world of running to the professional athlete and amateur alike. In a very succinct and enjoyable manner, it teaches one to perform to the very best of his ability, using the Pose running technique. In ballet, or martial arts, one requires practice of technique. The same is right of running. Unless you are one of the lucky ones, like Haile Gebrselassie, Steve Prefontaine, or Michael Johnson, who were born with the perfect technique, you have to learn it. Until Dr Romanov’s discovery there was no coherent theory on the theme. Running was practiced, but not taught as a skill. The Pose Method proposes to teach running as a skill with its own theory, concepts, and exercises.
Like any brilliant thought, the thought behind the Pose Method is simple. Every movement is built on an infinite number of poses, or positions, through which the body goes in space and time. In running, Dr. Romanov focuses on only one pose, which he calls the Running Pose. It is a whole body position, with vertically aligned shoulders, hips and ankles that makes an S-like shape of the body. The runner then changes the pose from one leg to the additional allowing gravity to draw him forwards. This makes forwards movement, with the least energy cost, and the least effort. The end result is quicker race times, simpler running and no more injuries!
Many have been asking for this book and are awaiting it keenly. USA and British Triathlon teams have been effective with Dr. Romanov with fantastic success. Scientific research on the Pose Method effects on runners was conducted at the USA Olympic Training Center (Colorado Springs) in 1997, at Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton, FL) in 1998-2001, at Sheffield Hallam University (Fantastic Britain) in 2001, at Kubansky State University (Krasnodar, Russia) in 2002, and at Cape Town University (South Africa) in 2002 with Tim Noakes, leader of the Lore Of Running, the runner,s bible. The results of the last research are very impressive. The load on knee joints is cut-rate 30%, the incidence of additional injuries is drastically diminished. The method allows the athletes to run simpler, quicker, longer, and most significantly, injury free.

I bought this book after reading previous reviews of a new and cutting edge running style. After reading this, I am very disappointed. There is nothing new here. The running techniques used in this book are the same ones that have been taught and used by top runners for many years. Landing with your foot under your center of gravity, avoiding heel first footstrike, soft knees, high heel kick, quick turnover with fleeting footplant time, avoiding braking action, running smoothly with small vertical motion are all running form pointers that are taught by any excellent coach. This is a very high fee for a book that has very small new information.

At first, I was skeptical. How could a single book teach a technique that would help a name run quicker and injury-free? How you can you teach a name to run? Dr. Romanov has written a book that has done all that.
There’s a certain art to running. Lacking the POSE method, you are like banging random notes on the piano. With the POSE method, you are able to play gorgeous concerto with your running shoes and the ground.

This is a fantastic book on running. Innovative, amusing and very well written. Read it and change your (running) life.

I felt this book was poorly written. The leader uses the first 130 pages explaining how he came up with his technique and trying to convince you that his technique is the best. Then spends only 10 confusing pages to clarify how to really use the pose technique to run. After that its pages and pages of drills and stretches to condition you to use the pose technique. I didn’t find it useful at all. I don’t doubt that the pose technique would be an improvement to my running. I just coldn’t learn it from this book. As a replacement for I went to Danny Dreyer’s Chi Running. Essentially the same thing with a much better written text. Pleased Running THB
