Wow says it all. I downloaded this as a Kindle book and read it while doing my daily treadmill. It was such a excellent read I finished up on the treadmill for more than an hour several times!
Could have done lacking the abrupt ending, although I know it’s only part of a series. But I was disappointed by the way the leader chose to end it. Otherwise, a fantastic read!

This book was awesome. This is the tale of Dax, an exiled Demon recruited to fight a demon invasion on planet. He has been loaned a human body and only agreed 7 days to perfect his mission. He is helped by Eddy, a woman who is courageous enough to fight beside him and like the man he has become. Along the way, Eddy and Dax are helped by Eddie’s father Ed, Bumper the dog, Willow a sprite, and Alton a Lemurian warrior from another dimension. Together the group face off against the invasion to keep the town of Evergreen safe and prevent the balance of excellent and evil from shifting. The like tale between Dax and Eddy was wonderful. You could really feel the like the two had for each additional. I like a book that can balance action, steam, and romance.

Eddy lives in the tiny town of Evergreen, California, which is situated at the bottom of Mount Shasta. Being a journalist for the local paper, she does not judge her father’s supernatural tales. That is, until she finds a naked man tied down in her shed being attacked by a garden gnome. Oh, and the blue fairy flying around said naked man.
She saves the man, Dax, and later finds out he is from another realm and is in Evergreen to save the town from a demon infestation. He only has one week to rid the town of the demons that are invading the town via a vortex in Mount Shasta. If he succeeds, he will be granted entrance into the heaven realm, Eden.
After seeing for her own eyes, Eddy is convinced weird things are happening. She decides to help the handsome Dax as well as recruiting a few helpers. Sorry to say, she didn’t plot on falling in like with Dax.
Will Dax and Eddy make it in saving Evergreen from the demons? Will her relationship with Dax be hopeless since he only has one week in Planet?
Although I described the tale as light-hearted, the actual book reads much more serious. I establish this appealing since the tale itself is sort of amusing (attack of the garden gnomes!) The tale kept me interested, although I felt the pacing dragged, but overall, the tale stirred forwards and fit within the timeline the leader customary.
Eddy and Dax’s relationship is very sweet. Early on, they fall hard for each additional and Dax relies heavily on Eddy’s ability to keep a curse at bay. I liked how they grew as individuals because of their relationship with one another.
Demonfire is a excellent start for a new series. The next tale is set and I look forwards to reading it, as I can feel the tension building already!
