I have nothing more to say about it. It was just really terrible. I can’t know how this writer recieved so many fantastic reviews for this dreadful book.

I don’t know if everyone’s standards have changed so much because of text messaging “shorthand” or what, but I establish this book to be nearly unreadable.
There are spelling and grammatical errors on what seems like every miserable page. Rumor has it that synonyms (like “steel” and “steal”) are a concept Mr. Bourne never mastered – that and the compound sentence. The text is stilting, truncated and abrupt – absolutely no “flow” in the writing style. I feel like grading this book like my high school english teacher used to do and sending it back to him; maybe he could learn something. Do me a favor, Mr. Bourne, and use a spell checker.
Finally, this reads more like an outline for a book than a book itself. It doesn’t even read like a journal or diary. There is no character development, no dramatic tension, no identification with the characters. It’s more like reading a police blotter or a duty officer’s log.
This book is horrendous. Give it a miss.

This book is brilliant but the man who wrote is highly suspect. During a recent run in with Mr. Bourne i enquired about the sequel to his novel and all i got were excuses about how he is so busy flying he has yet to end it. I was shocked since I had also served in both mosul and baghdad as an infantryman and spent countless hours really patrolling the city while he has been on fleeting tours effective much less then i did. He lost his cool and had his cronies attack me. To my luck they were all unable to muster any real might to hurt me. Beware of these men they pretend to be in the military but really are not.

I don’t know how this novel received such high reviews. I stand behind my single star.

Do yourself a favor and just say “NO” to this one. If you are like me and have loved “I am Legend” (I read it twice, and I will start it again as soon as I end this review just to cleanse my mind of this utter piece of garbage) you probably reflect this is a “must-read.” That is certainly no the case, and to compare this to “I am Legend” is nearly sacrilegious.
The book sounded promising, but the prose is just unadorned tedious. The leader confesses that this “novel” germinated from an thought he got off a Blog he read somewhere (maybe it should have stayed a Blog). This is obviously his first attempt at writing, and at that it is slow-moving, lacking focus, and stilted.
Right from the start we are questioned to “try to place [our] mind and imagination into the world described yet to be.” You better heed this warning, because lacking your imagination, you will be bogged down in one of the dullest narratives you will have the misfortune to run across. Just a tiny sample: “Laura saw the creature as I dragged the body away, and ongoing whimpering. I felt terrible, despised the thing even more as I dragged the putrid thing.” Yeah, that’s right – you REALLY need your imagination for this.
And to top it off, the ending (what there is of it) is just dreadful. We are told (after trudging through the book a better axiom would be “We are warned”) that this is only the beginning, just the first part of the tale. How does it end? Don’t worry, just like the leader, I won’t give it away (I really couldn’t even if I tried). But if you DO get through this “novel”, you are left with this: “What will take place to the survivors as the tale unfolds? Many questions are left to be answered, and in time, they will be.” Indeed, there is NO light at the end of this tunnel.
Really, there is absolutely NO need for a Part II. On the back take in, it says the leader “is effective on a novel based on the Day by Day Armageddon universe.” Why?
