I loved this book along with the series thus far. These books are a bit different from additional similarly catagorized books. Ms. Ivy is not a crude writer. She doesn’t throw in continual graphic adjectives as many additional authors do. I appreciate her ability to focus on the tale lacking building me feel dirty. I delight in the locker room feel lacking all the offensiveness. She does a excellent job with satisfying my like tale needs lacking excessive profanity. I am looking forwards to her next book. Thank you

Another Fantastic installment in this series. Styx the mysterious, sexy, misunderstood Annaso of the Vamps is utterly charming. Especially in his naive belief that no one especially a woman, can best him where it counts the most, HIS Heart. Awesome tale. Fantastic action. Styx is everything an Alpha male needs to be, but is just as strong in the like and loyalty he displays to persons who are dear to him. He truly has the heart of a king and this makes him being a pain in the a**, simpler to overlook. Again I loved Levet the Gargoyle. He just reminds me of a really irritating child that ur stuck with having to baby sit and ur not getting paid LOL! But he has such a genuine heart that u can’t help but come to like him. Viper, my man, is as permanently wonderful in this one. Especially his knowing and taunting wisdom towards Styx when it comes to his lack of understanding about the women they are mated to. I really like Darcy. She was strong. And agreed the situations she establish herself in, she handled herself. Lacking compromising who she is or faltering to her fears even though at times she was utterly terrified. So far Darcy and Shay are my favorite females in this series. I could not stand Dante’s mate in his book. But with her limited roles in these additional books, Dante’s mate seems pretty cool.

I have read the first book in this series and liked it. I haven’t read too far in this one, but it’s shaping up to be pretty excellent too, except there’s one thing that really bothers me. Prejudice is a grave human failing which any thinking person fights against in themselves and others. So, even though this is just fantasy fiction, it bothers me that the sorta excellent guys in this series are prejudiced against the curs which are humans who have been turned by werewolves. Of course, the leader describes them as stupid and not nearly so strong and in control of their beasts as “born” werewolves. So, then that bothers me that some of the werewolves, who are at least later in the series described as okay guys, turn humans into these stupid curs. I guess I just don’t like it if the excellent guys have this universal moral failing. Maybe in the final book in the series they will change in this regard. I would hope so. Really, part of the charm to me of werewolves IS that they have to fight their inner beast when their emotions are affected, so these werewolves don’t seem very werewolfy to me.
In this book there is a character who later is the ‘hero’ in the what I reflect is the last or latest book in the series. I really don’t like him at all since he considers killing a ‘cur’ woman with whom he has been having an affair, because she is getting uppity. Yuck! Unless I suspend my memory of that, I won’t be able to see him as any kind of excellent guy unless later in this book he has some sort of major change of heart. Of course this series of books doesn’t exactly plum the depths of the characters’ emotions.

I really loved reading this book. I will not go into detail of what the book is about, as I see others have done a fantastic job in doing so. It is a fantastic vampire romance book. You fall in like with the the Anasso of vampires, Styx. I had a hard time enjoying Darcy Smith as her phrases simply got on my nerves. I mean….in a very sensual, romantic vampire book…and the heroine says words like “Oh Poop!” or “Jeez”, “Cripe, “Holy crap” and more. It took away from the sensualness of the book. If Ivy did not wish to use any colorful words, she could have merely expressed how Darcy felt differently as additional authors have done. I mean….she did use the “F” word which is not uncommon in adult books. I felt like I was reading an adult book at one time then a teenage book at another each time Darcy opened her mouth and said “jeez”, or “Cripe,” etc., and judge me…..it is a lot. And then…..”Oh poop!!!!!!!” It was nearly like splashing cold water on me! Additional than that, the book is fantastic. That is why I still gave it five stars.
