Margo Sullivan had everything she could question for. The daughter of the Templetons’ stern housekeeper, she was treated like a member of the family tree. But money could not buy the thing she craved most-her mother’s acceptance…Amazon.com Review
Set in Monterey, California, this first novel in the Dream trilogy features Margo Sullivan, the feisty and gorgeous daughter of a wealthy family tree’s housekeeper. She’s been offered the same privileges as the Templeton children, but Margo resents handouts. She feels she has much to prove to herself, her surrogate family tree, and her mother. Margo dreams huge–she wants wealth, fame, and success–but she doesn’t want anyone else’s help. Her plot is to go as far away from home as possible, so she starts with Hollywood and then moves on to Europe, where she finds fame as a supermodel. But when her world comes crashing down around her, Margo discovers that reaching out for help–especially to your family tree–can be just as challenging and rewarding as solving your problems on your own.

I listened to the audio tape, rather than reading the book. I will comment on the audio first and then the book’s content.
The reading of the book was so terribly poor that I nearly yanked it out of the cassette player and threw it away, upon first listening to it. The woman reading the book (I hope it is not the leader) changes her voice for each character in the book. Each character’s part was so dreadfully read, due to the changes of voice inflections, that I could hardly stand it. Not only was it annoying, it was obvious and insulting to listen to.
It seems that the leader did not research the area well. I live on the Monterey Peninsula and was disappointed by the mistakes. She mentioned that an upstairs area at Cannery Row was hot as a furnace. Not possible here. She spoke of prices of commecial buildings in the area going for $275,000. Try adding a couple of more zeros. You drive up to Monterey from Huge Sur, not “down” as was written. In the beginning, she spoke of a hot summer’s day. Huge Sur is cold and foggy in the summer.
Factual errors aside, if you are going to buy this book, you’d be wise to buy the printed book and not the audio version.

I could easily place down this book as it lacked the thrill and excitement that most Nora Roberts books have. I bought all three books in the trilogy at once and so I am looking forwards to reading the second book, Holding The Dream in hope that it will be better than the first.

I really like the Characters in this book 3 girls raised as sisters Laura- Rich Girl parents own several hotels around the world. Katie- Parents Died and is a cousin of Laura’s parents take her in after her parents traggic death. Then there is Margo- the daughter of the house keeper her father died in a boating manufacturing accident lost at sea when she was 4 and they stirred to America from Ireland. Laura, Katie, and Margo were raised as sisters and were best friends and they each have their own struggles and dreams. Laura marries young in life to a man whom both of her friends and her brother Josh dislike. Katie goes to Harvard After she graduates a year early. And Margo’s mom is pressuring her to go to Harvard with Katie but as a replacement for runs off to hollywood and Europe to become a model against her moms and Josh’s wishes. Margo returns 10 years later life in shambles who wil help her pick up the pieces to her broken carreer and overdue bills. This is a fantastic book I read it in 24 hours.

I loved this book very much. I am going to read the whole dream trilogy just so I can find out what happens to Josh and Margo. I thought that ” Daring to Dream” was an brilliant book, but the ending was slightly unrealistic. Why would Josh forgive her when she was kissing another man? Overall, the book was excellent, though.

I read this book in 6 hours. I couldn’t place it down! It starts out with this sad moment in a woman named seraphina’s life when she kills herself. Then the leader takes you a century later to see
3 10-year-ancient girls fantasizing about it! it sets up the trilogy very well.
then you focus on margo and you really sympathize with her over all her distress. If you buy this you won’t be able to place it down. I dare you!
