Product Description
Do you work magic with herbs? Do you use them in spells, for talismans or simply use their innate powers? If you don’t have Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs, you need to get it straight away. This book has become a classic in its meadow. Paul Beyerl, a respected leader on herbs calls it “…an essential reference book by students of herbalism and magick alike … Scott’s personable charm touches every page… I highly recommend this book.” And Jeanne Rose, legendary leader of books on herbs and developer of an herbal course says “I like books like this … It is accessible, simple to read, and with its encompassing pointer (all too regularly neglected), simple to use as well.” Over 200,000 people already have this book and use it frequently.
In this edition of the book (it’s expanded and revised on the 15th anniversary of original publication) you will find the magical properties and folklore of over 400 herbs! You’ll also find lists of herbs based on their magical powers, their genders, their planetary rulers, and more. Perhaps the most vital list is the folk name cross-reference. With that information, when a recipe calls for “bramble, ” you’ll know it needs blackberry. Or if the magic calls for “enebro,” you’ll know you that is juniper.
The main part of this book is the listings of the herbs. Each one includes names, associations, and magical attributions. Violets can be used for protection, luck, like, and more. Primrose is for protection and like. Garlic is for protection, healing, exorcism, lust, and prevention of theft.
This book is considered a classic. It is probably consulted more than any additional book on this theme. If you want to learn the secrets of magical herbs, this book is a must!

I have permanently like scotts’s work…this also was a book i bought for a class. The material is very, very excellent, but i was a small disappointed when i saw the book as the take in was in really terrible shape…lots of ink markings on the inside and several crunched pages. I would not have rated this item due to the shape it came in but the leader is one of my faves!!

I despise this book. There is no practical information. Sure I may have ordered the incorrect book but, even as a mythological source, it is still poor in quality. ” Magical Uses” are so all-purpose and could apply to any situation. Its like reading your horoscope….they somehow permanently apply to you, in their really generalized manner. I would return it but with the shipping costs as such, I’ll trade it.

book is a fantastic reference but it could be better if it was illustrated in color

I didn’t care for this book because it didn’t have any herbs that were common to my area in Texas. It also didn’t list additional herbs that I know to be common. Additional than that it was fantastic even though it didn’t use real pictures but drawings as a replacement for.

I Rented this book first at the Library and then I just had to have it. Just about every weed in my yard had a magickal pourpose and this book showed me that. The best this is the drawings of the herbs, they give you a better thought of just what they look like. It even has a key system showing you which herbs are poison. Not everything called and herb taists excellent on chicken. I just wish there was more on how to use additional herbs togeather and the effects on will have on the additional. With just one down side this book is a fantastic altar companion.
