Stirred at a very slow pace. Didn’t hold my attention. Establish myself skipping paragraphs and even entire pages just to get through it. Characters were not believable. Would have been beter to cut a lot of the “filler nonsense” and make it a fleeting tale! Not BJ Daniels best work!

I liked the fee (free) and that’s about it. What a terrible premise and poorly written. Standard characters, ridiculous plot and a completely predictable ending. Don’t waste your time with this one even if it costs you nothing.

I deleted this book after reading about 20% of it.
It stirred slowly and seemed to be largely about an ancient romance and a disfunctional family tree and very small about a crime scene.
It held my interest when the crime part of the tale was covered….bored me otherwise.

I loved the book. It is my second Kindle book (just got the Kindle for Mother’s Day). It was a excellent read! Especially for free!!

Asothers have said, I’m not a fan of Harlequin romances since they are usually cookie-cutter, but this one was a small better than average. Honestly excellent plotting – I changed my mind several times about who the culprit was – didn’t settle on anyone until nearly the end, and then I was only half right. But the writing was lame. The leader seems not to have heard of the “show, don’t tell” method of writing and the tale, therefore, is too slow and static. This is only worsened by a rather abrupt ending, leaving me asking “What just happened here?” Also thought the characters were pretty sketchy. It would have been simpler to keep track of them if I had known a small more about each one. As it was, I had to look back at the leader’s “cast of characters” list at the beginning of the book to make sure I knew who she was talking about. If you have nothing else to do on a bone idle summer day, this was O.K.
