This book is for rich people with no kids and lots of extra time on their hands to “dream”.
The “materials needed” for the journal are expensive. I never even heard of most of the items and they are not readily available. Just getting all the materials to make the journal would take a month. Leader does not advise where or how to get the items.
Leader assumes you have already been an avid artist and soul searcher for years that is getting nowhere. Maybe there is a reason for that.

This book would have been fantastic if it had only been Sheri Gaynor. Her sections were detailed and full of wonderful step by step how tos. The additional contributors didn’t contribute anything of value to this book and I reflect they really detracted from the experience for me.
In fact, I establish most of the premise of this book to be annoying and I skipped pretty much all of the words after coming across phrases such as “the toad committee” and nonstop babbling about intentions. Gaynor really comes across as a Jr. High guidance counselor fresh from college with her head spinning with all these fabulous changes she’s going to make in these young lives. It was a small off putting, to say the least.
But, if you can overlook that, there are some really pretty projects in this book and some helpful how tos. There is also included, a deck of cards that are meant for some new age self improvement exercise, but I establish to just be eyecandy when taken on its own merit.
Yes, there is a “privileged purpose” to this book and yes, there are some huge name contributors included in this book. Persons are probably meant to be selling points and so I’ll throw it out there, but to me they took away from the experience. Despite what I feel like were huge flaws, this book remains a excellent choice for inspiration. I only wish that they’d went a different route because this book could have easily been one of my favorites.

Did not find this book usable at the beginner scrapbook, journaling, or just being expessive level. Really returned it as it was not what I was looking for or needed. Usually the Amazon recommendations for you have been very on target. This is missed the mark a small. It would be a better text if used as the basis for a semester class.

I bought this book to help inspire my art or get new thoughts flowing. I read reviews and looked at the inside of the book. But, when I received it and read it, I establish it to be a book about journaling. This is not what I had in mind. I tried to follow the exercises and got a painting going. I am trying to give this book another shot, but so far I feel the book is too personal to the leader and that taints ones’ own creative discoveries. I have nothing against the leader, but the projects seem sort of hodge-podge. This could be a excellent thing… maybe a stepping stone to better thoughts, but the book didn’t live up to the title nor the review hype.
